This is a 9* SUPER DOG BEATDOWN on Navy.
While I'm not predciting an outright victory, I believe the stage is set for a much more competitive battle than what this spread would suggest.
Navy is so far 0-2, while ECU is 1-2. The Midshipmen fell 37-13 to Memphis on Saturday. ECU is just 1-2 as well. It's coming off a 49-10 win over FCS Campbell.
Navy is averaging just 10 PPG so far, but I expect the Midshipmen to move the ball here today. They've been decent defensively, allowing 25.5 points per game.
ECU is averaging 36 PPG, while allowing 17.3. Quarterback Holton Ahlers has passed for 800 yards with seven TD's and two INT's.
Navy QB Tai Lavatai has 234 yards passing with one touchdown.
But I think the Midshipmen's triple-option will be effective enough to move the chains and stay competitive today.
ECU is also just 12-28-2 ATS in its last 52 after gaining 280 or more yards through the air in its last outing, while Navy is a sharp 6-1 ATS in its last seven vs. teams with winning records.
