Temple is 2-2 and Memphis is 3-1. Straight up. The Owls are 3-1 against the spread, while the Tigers are 1-3 ATS.
The Tigers are off a much tougher than expected 44-34 win over North Texas at home last weekend, unable to cover the 13 point spread. I don't think the home side takes the Owls for granted here though this week.
The Owls come off a 28-0 shutout home win over UMass and they look primed for a predictable letdown here. QB EJ Warner had 173 yards passing, two TD's, but also two picks. That type of play will work against the pathetic Minutmen, but definitely not the Tigers.
Last week Memphis' QB Seth Henigan finished with 141 yards passing and two TD's, while RB Brandon Thomas rumbled for 84 yards rushing and two TD's on 15 carries.
Memphis HAS to be feeling "lucky" after last week's victory in which it was outgained 473 to 334. Look for the Tigers to be much more attentive throughout this one and lay the points with confidence.
