Erik Karlsson makes his San Jose debut Wednesday amidst great hope and anticipation for Sharks fans everywhere as the expectations for Karlsson are high San Jose is going to be a very good team this season. 

The Anaheim Ducks are hanging on by a thread when it comes to going into a full-on rebuild. Corey Perry has just been ruled out for 5 months after MCL surgery and their other star and captain, Ryan Getzlaf is on the wrong side of 30 (33) and has already lost a step-in today's fast-paced NHL. T

The Ducks were terrible last season at generating shots last year, finishing fifth-last in shots for, but fifth-most in shots against. 
That's a recipe for disaster on any team.

In the Western Conference, where most teams got better, the Ducks have stayed stagnant and will rely on an aging captain and a relatively unknown players to try and carry the bulk of the production. Lets play the San Jose Sharks on Opening night behind a very solid goalie.
