Michigan State is looking to show the loss to the Northwestern squad was a fluke and something that will not happen that often. The Spartans offense is not nearly as good as what they have been in the past as the team is getting 266.8 yards passing per game and when the Spartans have run the ball it does not look like a Big-Ten team at all with 123 yards on the ground. This has translated to only 27 points a game. The Spartans do have Penn St's number though as they always play them tough.


The problem is the Spartans have not stopped the big play enough as the defense is giving up 23.4 points a game.







The Nittany Lion are not a team that has dominated on either side of the ball, but follow the slow and steady philosophy.




Michigan State will be able to contain one part of the Nittany Lions offense in the rushing attack and that is going to cause the Lions to throw the ball more, which is not their strong point. Look for the steady play of the Michigan State offense to make a difference and win the field position battle in this game. Michigan St really tightens up in the redzone and forces FG's and not TD's. What else is great is the Spartans defense can protect against the long ball a little bit better than the Nittany Lions and this tips the scales in favor to the Spartans to win 21-16.
