Continuing their West Coast road trip, the Washington Nationals will aim for a series sweep over the San Francisco Giants. The Giants have lost their potent run scoring from July that saw them average over six runs a game. San Francisco made quite the run to get back in the playoff race, but they are reverting back to their early season ways of late. Giants have lost 3 straight and 5 of 6. The big thing that sticks out to me is the inability of the SF offense to score runs. They have a mere 5 runs over their last 3 games combined.
The Nationals will send out Joe Ross, who has impressed in his first 2 starts, allowing just 3 runs in 10 2/3 innings. Washington has scored 4 or more in 4 straight games and should stay hot here against Giants starter Shaun Anderson, who has 5.08 ERA and 1.519 WHIP in 15 starts. The Nats get the sweep on Wednesday afternoon.
