The Pirates continue to impress this season and they'll face off with what has been a lackluster squad in St. Louis, who barely skirted by the reeling KC Royals. Pitt's Roansy Contreras has been sharp this season and has limited home runs to under 1 allowed per 9 innings pitched. He's been especially sharp at night when he prefers to pitch. Flaherty hasn't had the command we've seen from him in years past and this has resulted in a creep up in ERA and even though he has dominated Pitt over the years, this isn't your old crappy Pirates team of the past years. STL is just 13-23 in night games this season and and Pitt has had success vs the NL Central.
The Pittsburgh batters are staying patient at the plate and we like their chances here on Friday night as a home underdog.
