The Brewers starter Matt Garza has a 2-10 career start mark against the Yanks. Garza has dropped 13 of his last 19 teams starts during the month of May. Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is hitting .324 (11 for 34) against Garza, and is expected to play after he was rested Saturday with a day game following a night contest. New York's David Phelps (0-0, 3.18) will make his second straight start after his first nine appearances came out of the bullpen. Starting in place of the suspended Michael Pineda, Phelps allowed a run and three hits in 5 1/3 innings of a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angelson Monday. The right-hander is 7-6 with a 4.28 ERA in 24 career starts, but has never faced Milwaukee in any capacity. Mark Reynolds is the only Brewer who has faced Phelps, going 0 for 6 with five walks. The Brewers hitters never faced him and that favors the pitcher. The Yankees are a better team in day games and the Brewers are a little banged up with a few key injuries. I like the Yankees to win here on Sunday afternoon and get the series win as well.
