My Best Bets
- Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks - Miami Heat -4.5 (-110)
- Indiana vs Minnesota - Indiana Hoosiers ML (-650)
- Dallas Stars vs New Jersey Devils - New Jersey Devils ML (-115)
Heat vs Mavericks
Miami has been one of the most dependable teams in the league this season, and this matchup sets up well for them even on the road. The Heat are putting up over 124 points per game and have won four of their last five, including a 140-point explosion against the Clippers. Norman Powell has been a steady 25-point scorer for Miami, and the team’s overall depth gives them a clear advantage over a Dallas squad that continues to deal with injuries to major pieces like Kyrie Irving and Dereck Lively. The Mavericks have won two straight, but both came on the road and required strong offensive outings they’ve struggled to replicate consistently at home. Miami already beat Dallas 106–102 last time out, and with the Heat healthier, deeper, and far more consistent, I’m backing Miami -4.5. Check out the full Heat vs Mavericks pick.
Indiana vs Minnesota
This one is simple: Indiana is the superior team in nearly every statistical category and comes in playing its best basketball of the season. The Hoosiers are undefeated at 7–0 and averaging nearly 90 points per game while giving up just 62. They’ve blown out multiple opponents, including a 100–56 win in their most recent outing, and have shown elite defensive pressure with strong rebounding and efficient shooting. Minnesota, on the other hand, has dropped three straight and hasn’t matched up well against higher-caliber competition. The Golden Gophers average just 73.5 points and have struggled to defend athletic wings — which is exactly what Indiana brings. With the spread off the board but the moneyline available, the safest and most straightforward play here is Indiana Hoosiers -650 (ML) to stay undefeated. Check out the full Indiana vs Minnesota pick.
Stars vs Devils
Dallas hits the ice for the second straight night after an overtime loss to the Rangers, and that sets up a tough spot as they travel to New Jersey to face a Devils team that is 9–2–1 at home. The Stars have been excellent this season, but the back-to-back combined with travel gives the advantage to a fresh Devils roster that has been strong defensively through the first quarter of the season. Jake Allen and Jacob Markstrom have shared the crease well, and New Jersey’s special teams have been effective with a 25% power play and four shorthanded goals on the season. Dallas can always score with Jason Robertson leading the way, but New Jersey has the fresher legs, the deeper lineup at home, and the more favorable rest situation. I’m taking New Jersey -115 to hand Dallas another close loss. Check out the full Stars vs Devils pick.
