49ers vs Browns
This is one of those games that looks tricky until you start peeling back the layers. Yes, the Browns shocked a couple of teams earlier this season, but the reality is they’ve been inconsistent on both sides of the ball and now face a 49ers team that is rolling at the right time. Mac Jones has quietly pieced together a solid run with 13 touchdowns and Christian McCaffrey remains the best all-around weapon in this matchup. Cleveland’s offense has been limited with Dillon Gabriel still adjusting and Jerome Ford questionable, while the Browns’ strength — their defensive line — is banged up with multiple edge rushers sidelined. Add in the weather (37° and windy), the West-to-East travel, and the fact that San Francisco has won three of its last four by double digits, and it’s easy to see why I’m laying the points with the 49ers. Check out the full 49ers vs Browns pick.
Thunder vs Trail Blazers
This game feels like a mismatch no matter which angle you look at. Oklahoma City comes in at 19-1, winners of 11 straight, and they just handled Portland by 27 points a week ago. The Blazers are dealing with a brutal run of injuries — Scoot Henderson, Jrue Holiday, Matisse Thybulle, Donovan Clingan all either out or questionable — leaving Portland painfully thin in ball-handling and defense. Meanwhile, SGA is playing like an MVP (32.9 PPG on 54.5% shooting), and OKC is top-tier in nearly every team metric, ranking near the top in defensive steals and offensive efficiency. Portland allows 121.1 PPG, one of the weakest marks in the league, and OKC’s depth should overwhelm them again. I’m confidently backing the Thunder to cover the big number. Check out the full Thunder vs Blazers pick.
Ducks vs Blackhawks
This matchup sets up nicely for Anaheim on the moneyline. Chicago’s recent skid — five straight losses — shows a team struggling to generate consistent offense and battling injuries to key players like Teuvo Teravainen and Nick Foligno. Meanwhile, Anaheim has won three of its last five and continues to get strong two-way play from Leo Carlsson and Cutter Gauthier. Even with Lukas Dostal out, the Ducks still match up well thanks to their special teams; Anaheim holds a 20.7% power play and +3 short-handed goals on the year, while Chicago’s scoring has dried up outside of Connor Bedard. The Blackhawks have also allowed 4+ goals in four straight games. With Anaheim the healthier, hotter team and controlling more of the shot volume, I’m backing the Ducks to get it done on the road. Check out the full Ducks vs Blackhawks pick.
