Houston has won four straight, and the Rockets haven’t needed everything to go perfectly to get there. They’ve won close games, they’ve won on the road, and they’ve got Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun giving defenses two completely different problems. Milwaukee has been a little harder to figure out. The Bucks finally beat Indiana on Monday, but they were giving up too many points before that. I like Houston’s chances here. The Rockets have been playing better basketball, and I think they’ve got enough offense to make Milwaukee work all night.
Houston visits Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Wednesday, October 28, for an 8:00 PM ET matchup. The Rockets are unbeaten, while the Bucks are trying to build on Monday’s win. My side is Houston on the moneyline, with Over 225.5 as a target total. I’d rather take the Rockets to win than lay an unverified spread. Get into the action with the best and

Houston Rockets Are Getting Contributions From Everywhere
Houston is 4-0, including 2-0 away from home. The Rockets beat San Antonio 114-110, Atlanta 121-114 and then handled the Hawks again Monday, 120-110. They’ve been doing a good job finishing games, and that’s something I like about this team. Houston doesn’t seem to panic when an opponent makes a run. The Rockets have enough players who can create a basket without needing a perfect possession, and that’s useful when the game gets tight.
Houston is averaging roughly 120 points per game and allowing about 111. That’s a nice start, even if four games don’t tell us everything. The Rockets have been getting good shots around the basket, and their size has made it difficult for opponents to control the glass. Milwaukee has some good interior defenders, but Houston can move the ball through Sengun and still have Durant available when it needs a tough shot. That’s a pretty good combination.
Sengun is averaging 24.5 points and seven assists while shooting better than 58% from the floor. That’s impressive production for a big man. Durant is giving Houston another reliable scorer, and Amen Thompson has been averaging nine rebounds. Marcus Smart is out with a forearm injury, and Steven Adams has been unavailable with a lower-leg problem. Those absences affect Houston’s depth, but the Rockets have enough talent to work around them. As long as Durant and Sengun are healthy, I like their chances against most teams.
Milwaukee Bucks Need More Than One Good Night
Milwaukee is 1-3 after beating Indiana 110-102 on Monday. The Bucks had lost their first three games, including a 132-125 defeat against Chicago and a 127-116 loss at Philadelphia. Monday was a much better defensive effort. Milwaukee held Indiana to 102 and finally got a win. That’s encouraging, but I need to see more than one good night before I’m ready to trust the Bucks against an unbeaten Houston team.
Milwaukee has been giving up too many points through the first week. The Bucks have enough offense to stay competitive, but the defense has been inconsistent. Houston is a tough matchup because the Rockets can score inside or outside. Milwaukee needs to keep Sengun from getting comfortable in the paint while still having somebody available to contest Durant’s jumpers. That’s not an easy job. If the Bucks start sending extra defenders, Houston has enough passing to find the open man.
Tyler Herro is averaging 23.5 points and 5.8 assists, and he’s been Milwaukee’s most consistent offensive option. Kel’el Ware is pulling down 8.5 rebounds per game, while Myles Turner has been averaging 2.8 blocks. That’s useful against Houston’s size. Milwaukee doesn’t have a major injury listed at the moment, so the Bucks should have enough healthy players to compete. The question is whether they can get stops. Houston has been moving the ball well, and I don’t see Milwaukee having an easy time keeping the Rockets out of the paint.
Houston Rockets vs Milwaukee Bucks Picks and Predictions
Houston Rockets Moneyline
I’m taking Houston to win. The Rockets are 4-0, and I like the way they’re getting offense from Durant and Sengun without relying on one guy to do everything. Milwaukee can absolutely make this a game. Herro can score, and Turner gives the Bucks somebody who can protect the rim. But Houston has been more dependable on both ends, and the Rockets have already won a couple of difficult road games. Milwaukee’s defense looked better against Indiana, but I’m not convinced that fixes the problems from the first three games. Give me Houston in a close one.
Over 225.5 — Target Total
I’ll take Over 225.5 if the market offers it. Houston has been scoring around 120 per game, and Milwaukee has enough offense to contribute its share. The Rockets can get points inside with Sengun, while Durant gives them somebody who can score when the defense takes away the first option. Milwaukee’s best chance is to keep up offensively rather than turn this into a slow, defensive game. The danger is that Monday’s performance against Indiana was the start of a real defensive improvement for the Bucks. If Milwaukee can hold Houston near 105, this over could struggle. But I think both teams get into the 110s. Something like Houston 119-113 makes sense.
