Arkansas–Pine Bluff Golden Lions Preview

The Golden Lions enter at 1–8, and while they stole a 63–62 win over UIC in their last outing, they remain one of the most overmatched teams in Division I. Their biggest challenge? Defense. UAPB is giving up 94.1 points per game, the highest opponent scoring average of any team playing on Saturday’s slate.

Offensively, Q. Williams (14.9 PPG) is their best scoring option, and he has shown the ability to hit tough shots. However, the Lions average just 68.6 PPG, and their streaky shooting often puts them in early deficits they can’t climb out of.

UAPB giving up over 94 points per game is a glaring red flag — and against a home favorite with strong offensive momentum, that number could easily be reached again.

I expect DePaul to control the glass, push the pace, and generate easy scoring opportunities throughout the night. Once the Blue Demons go on their first run, UAPB simply won’t have the offensive firepower to respond.
