Auburn comes in with strong momentum, fresh off wins against NC State and St. John’s, and their only losses this season have come to Michigan and Oregon—both high-level offenses. Bruce Pearl’s team is once again built around pace, pressure, and shot-making.

Auburn averages 87.9 points per game, one of the best marks in the SEC, and they rebound extremely well (49 per game). K. Hall (21.8 PPG) has been sensational, a matchup nightmare who can score from the block, the midrange, and beyond the arc.

Arizona is 7–0 and playing like a powerhouse. Their wins include strong performances against UConn, UCLA, and Denver, and they’ve consistently overwhelmed opponents with their physicality, rebounding, and elite scoring depth.

The Wildcats put up 87.3 points per game, nearly matching Auburn’s pace, but they pair that with a far better defense—allowing only 67.0 PPG. Their combination of size and discipline makes scoring inside extremely difficult.

Offensively, K. Peat (15.6 PPG) and a deep supporting cast provide spacing and efficiency. Arizona shoots the ball well, moves it with purpose (19 assists per game), and controls the boards (52 rebounds per game—one of the best marks in the nation).

I’m taking Arizona in this matchup. Auburn is talented enough to hang around, but Arizona is simply the more complete team on both ends of the floor. Their rebounding dominance, defensive discipline, and depth give them multiple ways to absorb runs and still control the game.

Auburn can score, no doubt, but their defensive volatility worries me against an Arizona offense that thrives on punishing even the smallest mistakes. Add in the Wildcats’ overwhelming rebounding advantage and the home crowd energy, and this becomes a very difficult road environment for the Tigers.

Auburn will land some punches, but Arizona’s size, pace control, and two-way efficiency should carry the night.
