CSU Bakersfield is 4–4, coming off a 76–71 road win at Fresno State. The Roadrunners have been competitive in most of their games, leaning on physical play and opportunistic defense.

They score 72.3 points per game and allow 76.4. Bakersfield grabs 42 rebounds, hands out 11.4 assists, and generates 7.8 steals while also posting 5.6 blocks per game — that combination of rim protection and ball pressure is quietly solid.

CSU Northridge comes in at 3–4, but they’re on a two-game skid after losses to Idaho State and Idaho. The Matadors have shown flashes of strong offense but have struggled to keep opponents in check.

CSUN scores 75.0 points per game but allows 80.6, a negative margin that has been costly in tight games. They grab 40 rebounds, dish 13.3 assists, but only tally 1.9 blocks and 6.4 steals, so the defensive disruption isn’t where it needs to be.

I’m inclined to take the points with CSU Bakersfield. Northridge has the theoretical offensive upside, but Bakersfield’s stronger defensive profile — especially in blocks and steals — gives them a path to grind this game down and keep it tight.
