Team Breakdown - Michigan State
The Spartans are coming in sitting at 3-0 on the season. The offense is providing balanced attacks with multiple players that are able contribute with quite a few already sitting in double figures. Not to mention Michigan State has an extensive coaching history in place. The defense for the Spartans is strong for the Big Ten but does have room for improvement against strong teams like Kentucky and in some cases the Spartans have had lapses that has worried Tom Izzo.
The Spartans have relied heavily on Jaxon Kohler to lead the team in scoring at 14.3 points a game, but also in rebounding at 13.3 boards per game. The passing has been handled by Jeremy Fears Jr. who has ended up getting 9.3 assists per game. The downside is the offense has to keep up the fast pace and if it does start to lapse the defense is not that great in transition and is easily outmatched in some of the games.Β Betting on sports and on Michigan State is easy, but even easier if you use the best sportsbooks.
Team Breakdown - Kentucky
The Wildcats are coming in with a 3-1 record. The loss came against Louisville and definitely exposed some of the defensive lapses that the Wildcats have been trying to cover up this season. In fact, some commentators have even mentioned that the Wildcat defense seems to be easily distracted and hasΒ some inconsistent play that against a team with multiple scoring fronts like the Spartans have could prove to be costly.

The offense for the Wildcats is definitely a high powered option and one that has multiple players scoring in double digits. The other positive for the Wildcats is the fact that the offense is able to score points fairly easily and has been good at shooting. The offense has been led by Denzel Aberdeen who has 15.3 points per game, but he has some assistance on the scoring front with Otega Oweh putting in 13 points a game. Still, these are just 2 of the standout players for the Wildcats as the team does have some outstanding bench depth.Β Make sure you know about how the fans are looking on prediction markets for Kentucky with the social sportsbooks.
Star Spotlight - Michigan State's Jaxon Kohler
Kohler has been a great target for the Spartans offense on the interior scoring. Kohler is able to score and has double-double threat possibility in almost any game that he is on the court in. He averages 14.3 points per game, but also 13.3 boards per game. This ability has given the Spartans plenty of second chance scoring opportunities, but has made it easier to kill offensive momentum of the opponents.
Star Spotlight - Kentucky's Denzel Aberdeen
Kentucky has a great star in Aberdeen as he has played some amazing basketball on the court and has great shooting potential. Not only that Aberdeen is able to hit beyond the arc fairly consistently as well and if gets going good on the shooting or is able to drive in isolation he could easily cause foul trouble for Kohler or other Michigan State players on the inside.
Offensive and Defensive Breakdown
The offense is going to be a great game potential for the Wildcats. The Wildcats have an advantage on the offensive side of the ball and the control of the ball. However, the Michigan State team is able to run some good transition basketball and if they are quick in the transition game they could easily dominate the game and keep the Wildcats from setting up their clock killing offense.
The defensive side of the ball all depends if Michigan State is able to make Kentucky start to take contested shots. The more contested shots that the Wildcats have to put up the more likely it will allow Kohler and company to control the glass and keep the Wildcats offense from being able to score.
Kentucky vs Michigan State Prediction
This is a game that I think will be more of a back and forth battle. However, I think that the Spartans are going to struggle to keep the Kentucky offense in check for the entire game and will eventually fall into foul trouble. Once the Spartans start to get into foul trouble they are going to have some issues keeping the Wildcats at Bay and that is when Kentucky will strike to get the win and cover the spread, but I think Kentucky does not get the spread covered until it starts to reach free throws late in the game.
