Quinnipiac vs St. John’s Picks and Prediction for Monday, November 3, 2025

Carnesecca Arena hosts a Queens opener at 6:30 PM ET on FS1. St. John’s is coming off a 31–5 season and a Big East title run, while Quinnipiac arrives as the MAAC preseason favorite with a star headliner. ESPN’s model tilts hard to the Red Storm at 97.3 percent. Big board, bigger value — see our winning college basketball predictions.
Quinnipiac Preview
Quinnipiac’s case starts with senior forward Amarri Monroe, the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year. Last season, he led the Bobcats in points at 18.1 per game, added 9.1 rebounds and 2.3 steals, and finished with 14 double-doubles. The program has posted back-to-back 15–5 MAAC campaigns and enters as league favorite again after a 20–13 year, so this is not a typical opening night visitor to Carnesecca Arena. If Quinnipiac keeps Monroe active on the offensive glass and wins battles at the rim, the Bobcats can hang around through the first half.
Saint Johns Preview
St. John’s reloads almost entirely, but the profile still screams size, rebounding, and more shotmaking than last year. Zuby Ejiofor returns after averaging nearly 15 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks, and he plays bigger than his listed 6’9”. The transfer influx adds loads of talent: Idaho State’s Dylan Darling was Big Sky Player of the Year with 19.8 points and 5.7 assists on 35 percent from three, Stanford’s Oziyah Sellers brings a 39.6 percent career clip from deep, and Arizona State’s Joson Sanon hit just under 37 percent from three while scoring 11.9 per game. If Bryce Hopkins is close to his Providence form of 15.7 points and 8.5 boards, St. John’s can rule the paint.
Saint Johns vs Quinnipiac Prediction
The early-season risk is a new backcourt, but the advantage on the glass and at the rim should make up for any turnovers over the length of the game. Combine that with the Carnesecca advantage, and the result will be a comfortable lead at the half and a big double-digit victory. The Red Storm’s length and depth wear down Monroe’s support, and second-chance points help St. John’s win big.

Best Picks:
- St. John’s moneyline. The roster talent gap plus home court is the clearest angle.
- St. John’s first-half moneyline. Early shot volume from the glass should create separation before adjustments.
- Lean Red Storm in the spread market if the number is single digits. The interior edge and shooting additions point to a two-possession cushion turning into three by late clock.
