St Francis Red Flash Preview
St Francis struggled defensively in its opener, giving up 102 points while allowing Oklahoma to shoot better than 50 percent from the field. Guard Skylar Wicks led the Red Flash with 20 points, five rebounds, and three assists on 47.4% shooting. Zion Russell added 15 points and matched Wicks with five boards, while Chris Moncrief finished with seven points and two steals. The Red Flash shot 40.9% overall and 29.4% from three but turned the ball over 14 times while forcing only eight turnovers on defense.
The Red Flash had trouble matching Oklahoma’s size and gave up 12 offensive rebounds. Saint Francis will look for stronger interior play and more consistent ball movement after producing just 10 assists. Wicks remains the primary scorer, but the team needs secondary production from Brandon Russell and Cameron Tweedy to reduce pressure on the backcourt. Limiting turnovers and improving transition defense are priorities against a TCU team that prefers shooting quickly in its half-court sets.
TCU Horned Frogs Preview
TCU also looks to bounce back after a four-point loss to New Orleans. Forward David Punch led the Horned Frogs with 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds. Micah Robinson added 14 points and six boards, while guard Jayden Pierre scored 11. Brock Harding handed out six assists and five steals. The Frogs shot 38.8% from the field but went just 3-for-27 from three, and against Thursday’s opponent, cannot afford to shoot so poorly from behind the line..
The Horned Frogs forced 10 turnovers and recorded four blocks but allowed 78 points and 12 offensive rebounds. TCU’s focus will be on controlling the boards and converting on second-look opportunities. With Punch establishing early offense and Harding creating open shots, the Horned Frogs have enough scoring to take an early lead and build on it throughout.

TCU’s athleticism and interior strength will create a comfortable lead by the second half. Saint Francis can compete in stretches but lacks the size and roster talent to sustain it.
