Utah State comes in at 7–1, and for the most part the Aggies have been rolling. They’re putting up 85.4 points per game while allowing just 68.1, and the efficiency numbers back it up: they’re shooting well, they rebound at a high level, and they move the ball with nearly 19 assists per game.
Guard M. Collins Jr. is the engine, averaging 21.0 points per game on almost 59% shooting and an absurd 93.9% at the line. When your primary scorer is that efficient and automatic at the stripe, it travels well in tight road games. Utah State also has the depth to keep pressure on for 40 minutes – multiple guys can step into double figures, and the Aggies don’t fall apart if Collins sits a few minutes.
The one concern is their most recent result: a 74–61 loss at USF. That showed that when the pace is controlled and the Aggies see physical, connected defense, they can get a little stagnant. But historically this season, they’ve responded well after adversity, and the defense – allowing just 68.1 points per game – is good enough to keep them in control against middling offenses.

Charlotte 49ers Betting Preview
Charlotte is 4–5, but the record doesn’t tell the whole story. The 49ers are 4–1 at home, and they’ve done it with a defense-first identity. They allow just 70.9 points per game, and they’re comfortable playing in the low-70s or even high-60s.
Offensively, B. Bradford leads the way at 15.3 points per game on 47.5% shooting, and he’s a tough matchup when he gets downhill. Charlotte shoots it reasonably well overall and rebounds decently, but they lack the sheer firepower Utah State has. The 49ers average only 72.0 points per game, and if they fall behind double digits, they don’t have the same come-from-behind gear that the Aggies do.
Recent form has been a bit up-and-down: a nice 74–57 win over NC A&T, but also losses to Richmond and Illinois State in neutral settings. The constant is that Charlotte tends to keep games somewhat close with effort and physicality, especially at Halton Arena.

But the problem is that Utah State is not a pure run-and-gun team – they execute in the half court, too, and Collins Jr.’s efficiency plus the Aggies’ spacing and ball movement make them hard to bog down for 40 minutes.
On the other side, if Charlotte falls into a scoring drought (which they’ve done multiple times this year), Utah State can quickly push the margin out with transition threes and paint touches leading to free throws. Over four quarters of game flow, the Aggies simply have more ways to create separation.
