Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium will play host to a Saturday afternoon college football matchup between the App State Mountaineers and the East Carolina Pirates. On Saturday, App State rolled up 647 yards of total offense during a 55-3 home victory versus FCS Maine.

Senior QB Malachi Singleton shredded the Maine secondary for 291 passing yards and three touchdowns in the first half. Sam Pickett III hauled in five receptions for 76 yards and two scores. Jaquon Lewis rushed for a game-high 69 yards and a touchdown for the Mountaineers, who averaged 7.7 yards per rush.

East Carolina Preview

The East Carolina Pirates have won 17 games the last two seasons, but have to replace 21 starters for head coach Blake Harrell. The Pirates (0-1) landed plenty of capable players in the transfer portal and will go fast on offense. In 2025, East Carolina ranked third in the American Conference in total offense and scored a shade below 33 points per game. In their season opener, East Carolina was torched for 38 points during the first half of a 48-10 road loss against 13th ranked Alabama.

The Pirates scored their only touchdown early in the second quarter on a one-yard pass from Mitch Griffis to Jeremiah Melvin. Tyler Johnson caught a 68-yard pass for the Pirates, who managed a putrid two yards rushing on 22 attempts. East Carolina gave up close to 500 total yards and allowed Alabama to possess the ball for nearly 40 minutes.
