Auburn vs Georgia Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 17 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 10/11/2026, 11:14 PM ET

Auburn is going to take a road trip up to Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia. The game is set to kick off at 3:30 PM EST in this high stakes SEC matchup. The good news is the Bulldogs will not be facing as stiff as an opponent as the Crimson Tide from this past week. The weather predicted to be a minor factor with the temperature set to be seasonable 68 degrees, but their is minimal chance of rain with sunny conditions. Now, the spread is set at -18.5 with it being a -110 for both teams with the Bulldogs as the favored team. What else is kind of questionable is the total is set only at 49.5 on the day. Make sure you keep up with all the action with our free college football picks.

Auburn Faces Their Toughest Defensive Challenge

Auburn is coming to this game here with a 3-2 mark on the year. However, the Tigers are coming off of a bye week which was needed after losing to the Volunteers by a score of 24-14. What could make this a challenge for Auburn is the fact that this is also their second road game and the first one was a loss. The total record and the ATS record for Auburn is sitting at the same mark of 1-4 on the season.

The offense for Auburn has been scoring, but could struggle against the Bulldogs. The Tigers have put in a total of only 26.8 points per game, but have ended up getting 219.8 yards per game in the air and 180 yards per game on the ground. Defensively the Tigers have allowed 21.4 points per game.

One factor that could be a major issue coming to this game here is the lack of consistency from the Tigers offense which has ended up with some impressive showings like 43 against Southern Miss and 39 against Florida, but in their other games they have not cracked the 21 point mark. The defense for Auburn has the same issue giving up 44 points to Florida and 24 to Tennessee. However, the Tigers looked good in their other games, not giving up more than 16.

Bulldogs Back Home After Statement Win

Georgia comes back home after securing a big win over Alabama by a score of 20-17. The win helped move Georgia to a mark of 6-0 on the season. The Bulldogs are sitting on an impressive 4-0 mark at home ass well. Aside from the win over Alabama the Georgia games have not even been close with the next closest game being a 24 point win in their last 5 games.

The offense for Georgia is putting in 46.2 points per game on the year. When it comes to the offense the Bulldog have seen Gunner stockton throw the ball for 1,298 yards on the year. That coupled with a defense that is giving up only 14 points per game makes this a hard task for the Auburn team to get a win in this game here.

What is really impressive is the fact that Georgia in their win over Alabama ended up getting a total of 455 yards with 206 of them on the ground and 249 in the air. Defensively the Bulldogs allowed the Tide offense to roll for only 346 yards in the game.

Auburn vs Georgia Picks and Prediction

Georgia Bulldogs -18.5

Georgia has significant statistical advantages entering the matchup, averaging 46.2 points while allowing only 14.0. The Bulldogs also demonstrated their defensive effectiveness in Saturday's victory at Alabama, holding an explosive offense to just 17 points. Auburn has struggled against stronger opponents, scoring only 14 against Tennessee and losing to Florida despite producing 39 points. Georgia's combination of offensive efficiency, defensive reliability, and home-field advantage supports the possibility of a comfortable victory. The concern is the large spread and the possibility of an emotional letdown following Georgia's high-profile victory over Alabama.

Under 49.5 Point

Georgia has allowed an average of only 14 points per game and just held Alabama to 17. Auburn, meanwhile, has scored 21 or fewer in three contests and managed only 14 in its most recent appearance. The Tigers have also gone under in four of five games, highlighting their tendency toward lower-scoring outcomes when the offense is unable to sustain drives. Georgia's offensive explosiveness creates risk because the Bulldogs could approach the total themselves, but Auburn's difficulty scoring against strong defenses provides a reasonable foundation for the under.
