SMU looked very strong on defense as the Mustangs had a pair of pick-sixes, including one for 95 yards. SMU's offense generated 400 yards, but the Mustangs were careless with the ball, committing three turnovers. The Mustangs allowed 351 yards of total offense to the Lions, but forced three turnovers.
SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings has passed for 260 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Chris Johnson Jr. is the leading rusher with 44 yards and one touchdown, while Romello Brinson leads the Mustangs in receiving with 121 yards and one touchdown reception.
