Charlotte comes in at 1-4 and reeling. After allowing 50+ points in back-to-back games, the 49ers are struggling to stay competitive. When forced into passing situations, Charlotte hasn’t shown the ability to sustain drives or protect the football.

Stopping the run has been Charlotte’s biggest problem, and Army is the wrong opponent to face in that condition. The Black Knights wear teams down with long, grinding drives that control time of possession and break defenses in the second half. If Charlotte can’t generate early stops or force turnovers, they’ll be on the field far too long to keep things close.
