Beautiful Husky Stadium will be the setting for a Saturday afternoon college football battle between the Eastern Washington Eagles and the Washington Huskies. The FCS Eagles (1-2) split their eight Big Sky Conference games and dropped their only FBS matchup with Boise State by a 51-14 final score. On Saturday, Eastern Washington managed just three points in the first half and surrendered 272 rushing yards during a 41-23 road loss against South Dakota.

Eastern Washington QB Nate Bell has thrown two touchdown passes in each of his first three games, but his 217 passing yards was the lowest output of the season. Wesley Garrett caught seven passes for a team-high 109 yards and a score. Malik Dotson added 52 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Eagles.

The Washington Huskies rank 20th nationally in returning production and were considered a dark horse to contend for a College Football Playoff spot. The Huskies (2-0) averaged 34.1 points per game a season ago, but have scored just 40 points through their first two games. Last week, Washington CB Rashawn Clark intercepted a pass on the final play of the game to preserve a 16-14 home victory versus Utah State.

Junior QB Demond Williams Jr. lost several skill players from last year’s squad and is having to carry the offensive load on his shoulders. Williams Jr. threw for 249 yards and added a team-high 56 yards on the ground. Sophomore WR Dezmen Roebuck had seven receptions for 59 yards. The Huskies were limited to 3.2 yards per rush and forced three turnovers.
