Fresno State Bulldogs Preview

Fresno State has started fast this season behind solid quarterback play and a balanced offense. E.J. Warner has completed 73.7% of his passes for 1,178 yards with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. Warner spreads the ball across several targets, with Josiah Freeman catching 17 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns, with Ezekiel Avit adding 18 for 156. The Bulldogs don’t rely on deep throws; instead, they keep the chains moving with a mix of runs and short passes.

The ground game has also been steady. Bryson Donelson has rushed for 343 yards and three touchdowns, while Rayshon Luke has 263 yards and five scores. Both backs help Fresno control the pace and wear down defenses. Linebacker Jadon Pearson leads the defense with 41 tackles, and defensive lineman Finn Claypool has 2.5 sacks. Fresno’s defense has allowed only 17.6 points per game this year, keeping opponents under pressure throughout.

Colorado State Rams Preview

Colorado State has struggled to find consistency, but it has talent on offense. Quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has thrown for 488 yards with one touchdown, while backup Jackson Brousseau has added 421 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Armani Winfield leads the team with 203 yards and one score, and tight end Jaxxon Warren has 95 yards and a touchdown.

Running back Jalen Dupree gives Colorado State its best chance to move the ball. He has 370 rushing yards on 69 carries, averaging 5.4 yards per run. Lloyd Avant has added 226 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, linebacker Owen Long has 68 tackles, and Lemondre Joe has 1.5 sacks. The Rams have struggled to slow teams in the red zone, allowing 34 points per game, and will need a much stronger effort to stay close against Fresno State.

Fresno State Bulldogs vs Colorado State Rams Prediction

Fresno State has the more complete team on both sides of the ball. Warner’s accuracy and the Bulldogs’ running game should help them control time of possession. Colorado State can move the ball on the ground, but Fresno’s defense is too solid to give up many big plays. Final Score Prediction: Fresno State Bulldogs win 28–17.
