Georgia Tech heads to Raleigh on Saturday still unbeaten, sitting at 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the ACC, looking to extend its perfect season against a struggling NC State squad that has dropped four of its last five. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a dominant 41-16 win over Syracuse, while the Wolfpack were routed 53-34 at Pittsburgh. Don’t guess on Saturday—grab the smartest plays with our free college football predictions.

Georgia Tech Preview

Haynes King has been the driving force for Georgia Tech, throwing for 1,480 yards with seven touchdowns and only one interception while adding 651 rushing yards and 12 more scores. His dual-threat ability has kept defenses off balance, especially in the red zone, where he’s converted drives into touchdowns at a high rate. Georgia Tech’s offense has averaged more than 35 points per game during its last five outings, consistently finding ways to finish drives and control possession. The team’s effectiveness through the air and on the ground has allowed King to dictate tempo and spread the field.

Kyle Efford leads the Yellow Jackets with 51 tackles, and the group’s speed at linebacker has been a major factor in limiting big plays. Georgia Tech has tightened up over the past month, holding opponents under 20 points in three of the last four contests. The ability to pressure quarterbacks without blitzing heavily has allowed them to sit back in coverage and force turnovers, which will be vital against an NC State offense that’s relied heavily on its passing game.

NC State Preview

For NC State, quarterback CJ Bailey has been the lone bright spot in a tough season. He’s thrown for 2,071 yards and 17 touchdowns but also seven interceptions. Bailey’s connection with wide receiver Terrell Anderson, who leads the team with 468 yards and four scores, will need to be sharp to keep pace with Georgia Tech. The Wolfpack’s ground game, led by Hollywood Smothers with 825 yards and six touchdowns, has been productive but often forced into a secondary role as the team has fallen behind early in games.

Linebacker Caden Fordham continues to be NC State’s most consistent defender with 77 tackles, but the unit has struggled to contain mobile quarterbacks—a major issue against King. The Wolfpack have allowed more than 30 points in three of the last four games, and unless they find a way to generate consistent pressure, they could again be chasing from behind.
