Elijah Owens completed 23 of 32 passes for 288 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Keshon Singleton caught seven passes for 66 yards and a touchdown, while BJ Wuest added 67 yards. The problem was the running game, as the Sycamores managed only 58 yards on 31 attempts.

The receiving group has been rebuilt with Xavier Townsend, Bisi Owens and Asaad Waseem, who caught 66 passes for 699 yards and five touchdowns at Florida Atlantic. The Boilermakers allowed 433 yards per game last season, but Barry Odom has added several transfers to the defense. Charles Correa returns after recording 96 tackles, three sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss. Jojo Hayden joins the linebacker group, while Elo Modozie adds an edge-rushing option. Purdue forced only nine takeaways in 2025, so creating more short fields is a major goal for the rebuilt unit.
