Indiana State Preview
Indiana State’s offense has leaned on quarterback Elijah Owens and multipurpose back Plez Lawrence. Owens is off to a clean start (317 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT) and has shown a willingness to push the ball vertically, highlighted by a 75-yard touchdown strike. Lawrence has been the heartbeat so far, with 143 yards and two scores while also leading the team in receiving yards (111 yards, 2 TDs).
Sustaining drives will still be a challenge against a Big Ten front. The Sycamores have already allowed multiple sacks through two games, and IU can rush with power and speed. Indiana State’s tackling leaders, including Kimal Clark, have to come up big on first and second down to not allow the Hoosiers to have third and short.

Indiana’s offense has looked sharp with Fernando Mendoza at the helm ( 438 yards, 4 TDs). The ground game has been thunderous: Roman Hemby (175 rushing yards) and Kaelon Black (149 yards) are averaging better than 5.5 yards per carry, and Omar Cooper Jr. had a 75-yard run. At receiver, Elijah Sarratt has been a problem for secondaries (12 catches, 141 yards, 3 TD).
Indiana's defense has been led by defensive back Louis Moore who has 14 tackles and lineman Kellan Wyatt with 12. Indiana has 3.0 quarterback sacks and four interceptions. The Hoosier defense has prevented opponents from mounting any type of sustained drives, and therefore are well rested throughout the game with plenty of three-and-outs through the first two games of the regular season
