Sun Belt Conference foes will collide on Saturday evening, when the James Madison Dukes travel to S.B. Ballard Stadium to take on the Old Dominion Monarchs. The Dukes (3-0) crashed the College Football Playoff last season and are averaging 44.3 points per game for new head coach Billy Napier. On Saturday, James Madison built a 19-point halftime lead and coasted to a 26-13 road victory against San Diego State.

James Madison started the scoring three minutes into the game on QB Cameron Coleman’s four-yard touchdown run. Coleman finished with 246 passing yards and threw a pair of touchdowns to TE Cole Keller. Braeden Wisloski added a game-high 90 receiving yards for the Dukes.

Old Dominion Preview

The Old Dominion Monarchs won six of eight Sun Belt Conference games and finished last season on a five-game winning streak. The Monarchs (1-1) lost starting QB Colton Joseph to Wisconsin in the transfer portal and returned very little experience on the offensive line. Last week, Old Dominion failed to score during the second half of a 20-17 home loss versus East Carolina.

Daevon Iles gave Old Dominion a 10-7 lead on a 23-yard fumble return for a score. QB Quinn Henicle followed four minutes later with an 18-yard touchdown run. Henicle managed just 94 yards through the air and was picked off once for the Monarchs, who committed nine penalties for 95 yards.
