Joan C. Edwards Stadium will play host to a Saturday night college football clash between the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the Marshall Thundering Herd. On Saturday, Middle Tennessee overcame ten penalties and did not turn the ball over during a 38-14 home victory versus FCS Murray State.

Middle Tennessee took a 14-0 lead after one quarter on a pair of Roman Gagliano touchdown passes to Neo Clifton and Cam’Ron Lacy. Gagliano added 25 rushing yards and a score. Senior RB Antonio Martin paced the Middle Tennessee rushing attack with 103 yards on 15 carries.

Marshall Preview

In 2025, the Marshall Thundering Herd ranked fourth in the Sun Belt Conference in total offense and averaged a shade below 31 points per game for first year head coach Tony Gibson. Marshall returns arguably the best quarterback in the conference, Carlos Del Rio-Wilson, who threw for 2,043 and 17 touchdowns a season ago. On Saturday, Marshall surrendered nearly 500 yards of total offense during a 45-0 road loss against 18th ranked Penn State.

Del Rio-Wilson was sacked twice and finished with an uninspiring 102 passing yards on 25 attempts. Del Rio-Wilson flashed his mobility with a team-high 30 rushing yards. No other Thundering Herd rusher gained more than six yards on the day. Marshall converted just 1-for-11 third down attempts and allowed Penn State to possess the ball for more than 36 minutes.
