The Nevada Wolf Pack ended last year on a six-game losing streak and dropped their season opener to second-ranked Penn State. The Wolf Pack (1-1) feel their second-year head coach Jeff Choate is the right choice to turn things around, but the program lacks the resources to compete in college football’s current NIL landscape. Last week, Jonathan Maldonado’s interception return for a touchdown with 2:17 remaining lifted Nevada to a 20-17 home victory versus FCS Sacramento State.

Nevada trailed 10-0 early in the second quarter but evened things on a Joe McFadden 37-yard field goal and a Chuba Purdy three-yard touchdown run. Purdy threw for 144 yards and added a game-high 115 yards on the ground for the Wolf Pack.
