Northwestern Preview
Quarterback Preston Stone has passed for 1,372 yards and 10 touchdowns but has also thrown nine interceptions. Wide receiver Griffin Wilde leads the team with 570 yards and four touchdowns, while Caleb Komolafe has powered the run game with 608 yards and seven scores. Joseph Himon II has 397 rushing yards and is a reliable option in short-yardage situations. The Wildcats’ offense is most effective when it avoids turnovers and has big gains on first and second downs.
On defense, Robert Fitzgerald leads Northwestern with 69 tackles, and linebacker Mac Uihlein has four interceptions. Defensive lineman Aidan Hubbard has 3.5 sacks, giving the front a solid pass rush. Linebacker Eric Gentry leads USC with 48 tackles, and safety Bishop Fitzgerald has five interceptions. Defensive end Braylan Shelby has 3.5 sacks, and the Trojans’ front has been effective in key downs. Kicker Ryon Sayeri has made 12 of 13 field goals with a long of 54 yards.
