Texas Tech looks to rebound from a loss to Arizona State when the 6-1 Red Raiders host the struggling 1-6 Oklahoma State Cowboys at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM ET, with mild weather expected around 78 degrees. Texas Tech sits at 3-1 in Big 12 play, while Oklahoma State is winless in conference action. Rivalry week? Bowl season? From underdogs to point spreads, weโ€™ve got your back with free college football picks.

Oklahoma State Preview

Oklahoma State has had a rough stretch, losing five straight, including a 49-17 drubbing by Cincinnati. Quarterback Zane Flores has thrown for 696 yards with three interceptions on a completion rate of 55%, and the offense hasnโ€™t found much success in recent weeks. Rodney Fields Jr. leads the rushing attack with 257 yards on 55 carries, but the Cowboys have struggled to sustain drives or finish possessions. Gavin Freeman has been a bright spot with 203 receiving yards and two touchdowns, though Oklahoma Stateโ€™s passing attack remains inconsistent. Linebacker Wendell Gregory leads the defense with three sacks, and Bryan McCoy Jr. has recorded 40 tackles, but that hasnโ€™t been enough to slow opposing offenses that have topped 30 points in five of the last six outings.

Texas Tech Preview

Texas Tech, on the other hand, has looked like a legitimate Big 12 contender behind quarterback Behren Morton. Heโ€™s thrown for 1,501 yards with 13 touchdowns to just three interceptions, showing excellent command of the offense. Running back Cameron Dickey has powered the ground game with 591 rushing yards and eight scores, giving the Red Raiders a balanced attack. Wideout Caleb Douglas adds 395 receiving yards on 24 catches. On defense, linebacker David Bailey has been disruptive with 8.5 sacks, while Jacob Rodriguez anchors the unit with 47 tackles. Despite a slip-up at Arizona State, this team has outscored opponents by wide margins during its six wins, including a 42-17 rout of Kansas earlier this month.

Oklahoma State vs Texas Tech Prediction

The gap between these programs right now is significant. Oklahoma State has been overmatched in most games, while Texas Tech has the offensive firepower and defensive depth to control the tempo at home. Mortonโ€™s effectiveness, combined with Baileyโ€™s pass rush, should keep the Cowboys on their heels all afternoon. Expect Texas Tech to roll behind another strong offensive showing.
