Pittsburgh heads south to Tallahassee for a key ACC clash against Florida State on Saturday morning at Doak Campbell Stadium. The Panthers enter at 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play, while the Seminoles sit at 3-2 and are still looking for a first conference win. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM ET on ESPN. Pittsburgh Preview

Pittsburgh’s offense is finding rhythm behind quarterback Eli Holstein, who’s thrown for 1,058 yards and 11 touchdowns with a 63% completion rate. He’s been efficient in the red zone and has spread the ball well to Raphael Williams Jr., who has 320 receiving yards and four scores on 18 receptions. Juelz Goff leads the ground game with 175 yards and three touchdowns on 45 carries, providing needed balance. The Panthers’ recent results include a 48-7 rout of Boston College, where the offense looked sharp from start to finish, and a close 34-27 loss to Louisville that showed the ability to compete with upper-tier ACC foes. Limiting turnovers has been key for Pittsburgh, and if Holstein maintains his accuracy, they’ll test the Seminoles’ secondary early.

Florida State Preview

Florida State has endured two straight narrow defeats, including a 28-22 loss to Miami and a double-overtime setback at Virginia. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos has passed for 1,120 yards and six touchdowns, though his five interceptions have stalled a few drives. The ground attack remains the foundation, with Gavin Sawchuk averaging over five yards per carry en route to 281 yards and six touchdowns. Duce Robinson has emerged as the top target in the passing game, hauling in 23 receptions for 433 yards. Despite the recent losses, Florida State has shown explosive potential when Castellanos gets time in the pocket. However, inconsistency on third downs and turnovers has hurt them late in games, areas that must improve against a disciplined Pittsburgh defense led by linebacker Rasheem Biles and his 44 tackles.

Florida State vs Pittsburgh Prediction

This matchup features two teams trending in opposite directions: Pittsburgh coming off a dominant win, and Florida State searching for answers. The Panthers’ balanced offense and Holstein’s effective play could pose problems for a Seminoles defense that’s allowed 28 points or more in each of its last two contests. Still, Florida State’s talent and home-field advantage keep them dangerous, especially with the potential for Sawchuk to control tempo.
