Rutgers Preview

Rutgers comes in looking to snap a two-game conference skid and get back on track. Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis has thrown for 1,399 yards, completing 67% of his passes with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He has spread the ball around effectively, with KJ Duff leading the way at 420 receiving yards and Ian Strong close behind with 413. Running back Antwan Raymond has been the team’s most consistent runner with 471 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 87 carries.

Defensively, Rutgers has struggled in Big Ten play but still has a talented group. Defensive back Jett Elad leads the team with 31 tackles and one interception, while lineman Bradley Weaver has 2.5 sacks. The Scarlet Knights have allowed 34.5 points per game in conference play, and improving third-down stops will be vital to limit Washington’s tempo.

Washington Preview

Washington has been effective and steady under quarterback Demond Williams Jr., who has completed 75% of his passes for 951 yards and six touchdowns without throwing an interception. Williams has also rushed for 192 yards and two scores. Running back Jonah Coleman provides offensive balance with 417 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 6.5 yards per carry. Denzel Boston leads the receiving corps with 275 yards and three touchdowns on 19 catches.

The defense has been very consistent, holding Maryland to 20 points last week. Safety Alex McLaughlin leads Washington with 29 tackles and two interceptions. Edge rusher Jacob Lane has 2.5 sacks, helping the Huskies apply pressure while keeping opponents under 17 points per game at home. Washington’s mix of speed on the edge and strong tackling in the secondary makes it difficult for opponents to find open space.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs Washington Huskies Prediction

Washington’s offense is effective on the ground and through the air, while its defense forces teams into long drives that often stall. Rutgers has improved passing numbers but has struggled to protect the quarterback, giving up 17 sacks in five games. The Huskies’ home-field advantage and stronger defensive front will make the difference. Final Score Prediction: Washington Huskies win and cover ATS 34–21.
