Tulsa vs Navy Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 10 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 10/04/2026, 10:37 PM ET

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane visit the Navy Midshipmen at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for an American Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM ET. Tulsa enters after playing North Texas on October 1, while Navy returns home with another opportunity to use its run-heavy offense to dictate tempo. Tulsa Needs to Stay Disciplined Defensively

Tulsa’s first priority is preventing Navy from controlling the football for extended stretches. The Midshipmen are comfortable putting together long rushing possessions that gradually wear down opposing defenses and reduce the number of opportunities available to the other offense.

That makes first-down defense particularly important. If Tulsa consistently allows four or five yards on early downs, Navy can keep its entire offensive package available and repeatedly convert manageable third downs.

Offensively, Tulsa needs to maximize possessions. A turnover against Navy can effectively cost two possessions because the Midshipmen are capable of taking significant time off the clock on the ensuing drive. The Golden Hurricane can’t afford to repeatedly give the ball away or settle for empty trips into Navy territory.

Navy enters with a clear identity. The Midshipmen want to run the football, control possession and force opponents to become increasingly impatient as opportunities disappear from the game.

Playing in Annapolis strengthens that approach. Navy doesn’t need to chase explosive plays if it consistently wins at the line of scrimmage. A series of eight-, nine- and ten-play drives can be every bit as damaging as quick touchdowns because it keeps Tulsa’s offense watching from the sideline.

The Midshipmen’s biggest advantage is that Tulsa has to adjust to them rather than the other way around. If Navy establishes the ground game early, Tulsa may have to take more offensive chances simply because it knows possessions will be limited.

Tulsa vs Navy Picks and Predictions

Pick: Navy Against the Spread

Navy is the side pick. The Midshipmen’s offensive style creates a difficult preparation challenge, and playing at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium only increases the advantage. Tulsa needs to demonstrate that it can consistently stop the run before I’m willing to trust the Golden Hurricane on the road. Navy should control possession and gradually create enough separation to cover a reasonable home-favorite number.

Pick: Under the Total

The Under is the total pick. Navy’s rushing approach can consume enormous amounts of clock, and that naturally reduces total possessions. Tulsa’s best strategy is similarly to avoid an open game and make each possession count. Unless turnovers create repeated short fields, this matchup should have fewer scoring opportunities than a typical college football game.
