Virginia Tech opened on the road against South Carolina, falling 24–11 in a game where the Hokies’ offense struggled to sustain drives. Quarterback play has been inconsistent for the Hokies through two weeks. In week two, Virginia Tech traveled to Vanderbilt and again fell short, dropping a 44–20 decision. While the Hokies did produce, defensive breakdowns and costly penalties prevented them from keeping pace.

Old Dominion Preview

The Old Dominion Monarchs currently sit 1-1 as members of the Sun Belt. ODU opened the season with a tough 27–14 road loss at No. 20 Indiana, but quarterback Colton Joseph left a big impression. Despite going just 11-of-22 passing for 96 yards with 3 interceptions, he showcased his athleticism by rushing for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns, nearly carrying the Monarchs back into the game by himself. In week two, Old Dominion bounced back with a dominant 54–6 victory over North Carolina Central. The Monarchs’ offense exploded for over 500 total yards, and the defense allowed just two field goals all game.
