Western Kentucky Preview

Western Kentucky builds its offense around quarterback Maverick McIvor, who has completed 67% of his passes for 1,863 yards with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. The QB averages 7.3 yards per attempt and has topped 250 passing yards in five of seven games. Matthew Henry leads the receivers with 435 yards and three touchdowns, while K.D. Hutchinson adds 330 yards and three scores. The ground game supports the passing attack with 856 yards and 10 touchdowns on 207 carries.

The Hilltoppers’ defense has allowed 25 points or fewer in four of the last five games. Linebacker Jaylen Wester leads with 39 tackles, and Jaylen Lewis has two interceptions. The front seven has produced seven sacks, with Harper Holloman and Dominic Oliver combining for four. Western Kentucky needs to finish drives with touchdowns and make more stops on defense to force three-and-outs.

Louisiana Tech Preview

Louisiana Tech has split its last four and plays its first home game since September 20. Quarterback Blake Baker has thrown for 649 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while completing 61% of his passes. Tight end Eli Finley has been his top target with 252 yards. Running back Clay Thevenin leads the ground game with 261 yards and three touchdowns on 61 carries, helping the Bulldogs reach 879 rushing yards as a team.

The Bulldogs’ defense has set the tone for much of the season. Linebacker Kolbe Fields leads with 39 tackles, and edge rusher Mekhi Mason has three sacks. Defensive backs Jakari Foster and Jhamal Shelby have combined for four interceptions, including a 67-yard return. Louisiana Tech has allowed 20 points or fewer in three of its last five and needs that same consistency to slow McIvor’s passing game.

Western Kentucky vs Louisiana Tech Prediction

Louisiana Tech has been stronger at home and tougher on defense. Western Kentucky’s passing attack moves the ball but struggles to convert drives into touchdowns. The Bulldogs create more short fields with three-and-outs, for their offense and pull away late. Final Score Prediction: Louisiana Tech Bulldogs win and cover ATS 27-21.
