Ravens Preview
Baltimore closed last season strong, winning seven of its final eight regular-season games and rolling into the playoffs with one of the most efficient offenses in the league. Lamar Jackson is healthy and poised for another MVP-caliber run after accounting for over 4,000 total yards last year. Zay Flowers returns as Jackson’s top target, and the run game is bolstered by the addition of rookie back Rasheen Ali. Tight end Isaiah Likely is questionable with a foot injury, and wideout Dayton Wade remains on IR.
Defensively, the Ravens return a top-5 unit that allowed just 16.5 points per game in 2024. The front seven features Roquan Smith and Justin Madubuike, while the secondary, even without Ar’Darius Washington, remains deep and physical. Baltimore led the NFL in sacks last season and will test Buffalo’s line early. Linebacker Adisa Isaac is on IR with an elbow injury, but the core of the defense is intact and ready to pressure Josh Allen.
Bills Preview
Buffalo is looking to reset after another postseason exit, this time falling 32-29 at Kansas City. Josh Allen remains the centerpiece of the offense after throwing for over 4,300 yards with 40 total touchdowns in 2024. James Cook anchors the backfield, while Stefon Diggs and Dalton Kincaid lead the receiving group. Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir are both questionable, but Buffalo still has enough firepower to stretch the field.
The Bills allowed 19.2 points per game last season and were opportunistic in the red zone. Tre’Davious White is questionable with a leg issue, and safety Wande Owens is out, which could open up the middle for Baltimore’s tight ends. The defensive line must improve against mobile quarterbacks after struggling late last season. Despite a few injuries, the Bills' defense is well-coached and plays fast at home.
Bills vs Ravens Pick
Baltimore enters healthier and more polished after a sharp preseason, while Buffalo's pass defense is banged up heading into Week 1. With Lamar Jackson under control and the Ravens’ defense likely to contain Allen’s deep game, Baltimore holds the edge in a tight rematch. Final Score Prediction: Ravens 27, Bills 24.
