Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles Picks and Predictions for Sunday October 18 2026
The Carolina Panthers head to Philadelphia on Sunday, October 18, 2026, to take on the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM ET on CBS. Carolina is coming off its bye week after topping Detroit 32-26, while the Eagles are desperate to snap a three-game skid. Their latest setback came in London, falling 19-17 to Jacksonville. Philadelphia opens as a 1.5-point favorite at DraftKings, with Carolina coming back at +1.5 (-115). The total sits at 42.5 points. Weather won't be an issueโwe're looking at temperatures around 55 degrees at kickoff, light 5 mph winds, and virtually no threat of rain. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised to see Philly laying points here given how both teams have played lately. The Eagles have home field, but Carolina has been scoring at a much higher clip. Carolina Panthers Look To Build On Their Win Over Detroit
Carolina comes in at 2-2 overall and 1-1 on the road. The Panthers had last week off, giving them extra time to prepare for Philly. Their last time out was that 32-26 win over Detroit, and the offense was clicking. Bryce Young had a big night through the air, while Tetairoa McMillan gave the Lions secondary fits all game long. Carolina has been tricky to evaluate this year. They opened with an ugly 59-37 loss to Chicago, bounced back to crush Atlanta 34-3, and then dropped a tight one to Cleveland. I liked what I saw against Detroit, though. The offense looked much sharper, and the extra week rest should help them get healthier. Carolina has a real shot to climb over .500 here, and I'm not convinced the Eagles can stop them.
The Panthers have scored 121 points in four games, which comes out to 30.3 per contest. That's a strong mark, driven largely by the passing game. Carolina has piled up 1,623 total yards, averaging 405.8 per game. The ground game has added 418 yards, or 104.5 per contest. Defensively, they've allowed 109 pointsโan average of 27.3. That's high, mostly inflated by that 59-point nightmare against Chicago in Week 1. Carolina has also struggled to stop the run, allowing 5.4 yards per carry. That's a concern against Philadelphia if the Eagles find a groove on the ground. Still, the Panthers are scoring enough to mask those defensive flaws. Expect Carolina to keep airing it out against an Eagles secondary that hasn't offered much resistance lately.
Bryce Young has played solid football for Carolina. He's thrown for 1,268 yards with nine touchdowns against just two interceptions through four games. That's a strong start, and McMillan has been his go-to target. The second-year receiver has 385 yards on 26 catches with two touchdowns. He was dominant against Detroit, racking up 14 receptions for 192 yards and both of Young's touchdown throws. Chuba Hubbard has provided a nice balance on the ground, rushing for 306 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 5.0 yards per carry. Carolina does have injury concerns, though. Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson are on injured reserve, leaving them thin at cornerback. Xavier Legette is also on IR with a knee issue. Taylor Moton and Tershawn Wharton returned to practice, but still need to be activated before game day. I love how Carolina moves the ball, but that banged-up secondary is something Philly could exploit.

Philadelphia Eagles Need To Get Things Turned Around
Philadelphia sits at 2-3 on the year and 1-1 at home. The Eagles started strong with wins over Washington and Tennessee, but the wheels have come off since. They've dropped three straight, including last Sunday's 19-17 loss to Jacksonville across the pond. That was another frustrating finishโPhilly had a chance late, but the Jaguars drove down for the winning field goal. Nick Sirianni is taking plenty of heat for his decision-making, and it's hard to blame the fans. The Eagles have too much talent to be under .500, even with key injuries. They also dropped games to Chicago (27-7) and the Rams (24-20) during this slump. Philadelphia desperately needs a win, especially with Carolina coming to town averaging over 30 points a game.
The Eagles offense has managed just 92 points through five gamesโa pedestrian 18.4 per contest. That's well below expectations for this group. They've produced 1,311 total yards, averaging 262.2 per game. The passing attack has been quiet, and the running game hasn't picked up the slack, generating just 458 yards (91.6 per game). Defensively, Philly has been decent, allowing 112 points (22.4 per game). That unit has held up fairly well considering how little support it gets from the offense. Carolina presents a much tougher test, though. The Panthers are throwing it efficiently, and Philly hasn't generated consistent pressure up front. The Eagles need big plays from both sides of the ball to stay competitive.
Jalen Hurts has thrown for 933 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions through five games, completing just 57.8% of his passes. That's simply not enough production from your franchise QB. Saquon Barkley has rushed for 182 yards on 36 carries, but missed the London game with a hamstring injury and remains listed as unavailable on early injury reports. DeVonta Smith is also battling a hamstring issue, leaving Philly light on weapons. Dontayvion Wicks has stepped up as one of the top targets with 260 yards on 17 catches. On defense, Jalen Carter has three sacks, while Jihaad Campbell leads the team with 42 tackles. Jonathan Greenard is dealing with an ankle injury, and center Drew Kendall is out with a knee injury. That's a heavy injury load for a struggling squad. Hurts needs help, and right now, I'm not sure they have enough healthy body count on offense to give it to him.
Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles Picks and Predictions
Against the Spread Pick: Carolina Panthers +1.5
I'm taking Carolina and the points on the road. The Panthers have been the far superior offensive team, and I don't see why Philly deserves line respect after dropping three in a row. Carolina averages 30.3 points per game compared to Philly's 18.4โthat's a massive gap. Young is throwing with confidence, and McMillan should have another big day against an Eagles pass rush that can't get home. The only real worry is Carolina's run defense, which yields 5.4 yards per carry. But with Barkley nursing a hamstring issue, Philly might not be equipped to take advantage. Carolina comes in fresh off a bye, while Philly is flying back from London after a tough loss. I expect the Panthers to coverโand likely win straight up. Give me Carolina +1.5.
Total Pick: Over 42.5 Points
I'll play the Over here, even if Philly's offense makes me sweat a bit. The Eagles have been sluggish and beat up, but Carolina is scoring over 30 points a night, and Young should carve up this Philly defense. On the flip side, Carolina surrenders 27.3 points per game, meaning Philly will get its opportunities. The Panthers' weak run defense should help the Eagles sustain drives even without Barkley fully healthy. My biggest concern is Hurts' inconsistent accuracyโif he bogs down again, Philly could hold up their end of the total. Still, I think this game opens up more than the line suggests. A 27-23 finish feels right on target. Take Over 42.5 points.
Final Picks: Carolina Panthers +1.5 and Over 42.5 Points.
