Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions Picks and Predictions for Sunday October 25 2026
Green Bay beat Dallas 23-13 at Lambeau Field Sunday night. Nothing particularly flashy about it. The Packers played defense, made enough plays on offense, and went home with a win. Now they get Detroit, which has had a week off and has been scoring points like somebody forgot to tell Jared Goff the season is supposed to be difficult.
The Packers visit Ford Field in Detroit on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Kickoff is at 4:25 PM ET on FOX. Detroit is favored by three points, and the total is 53.5. That’s a big number, but these teams have enough offensive talent to make it interesting. You can find more matchups on our free NFL picks page.
Green Bay Packers Have Been Doing Enough To Win
Green Bay is 4-2 after beating Dallas 23-13. The Packers haven’t been perfect, but they’ve won four of six and just picked up a solid home victory. They forced Dallas into mistakes and kept the Cowboys from getting comfortable offensively. Green Bay’s defense deserves credit for that. The Packers have allowed 125 points through six games, a little under 21 per contest. That’s a decent number when you’re heading into Detroit to face an offense that’s been scoring more than 30.
The Packers have scored 127 points themselves, just over 21 a game. That’s where the concern starts. Green Bay has had some big passing plays, but the offense hasn’t been nearly as dangerous when it’s trailing. Jordan Love can throw the deep ball, although the Packers haven’t been connecting consistently on those shots. Detroit’s secondary has given up plenty through the air, so Green Bay should have opportunities. The question is whether Love can hit them when the Lions know he has to throw.

Love has been protecting the ball reasonably well, but his deep passing numbers aren’t quite as impressive as they look at first glance. Outside the Chicago game, he has completed only four of 26 deep attempts. Christian Watson and Matthew Golden can stretch the field, but somebody has to get them the ball. Green Bay needs its offensive line to hold up against Detroit’s pass rush. If Love spends the afternoon moving around the pocket, those deep shots aren’t going to be there.
Detroit Lions Are Putting Up Points
Detroit is 3-2 and coming off its bye. The Lions have scored 164 points in five games. That’s 32.8 a contest, and it’s a big reason they’re favored against a Green Bay team with a better record. Detroit has been good at home, winning both games at Ford Field. The Lions have had some defensive problems, but the offense has been good enough to cover up plenty of them.
Detroit has allowed 148 points, almost 30 a game. That’s a lot. The pass defense has been giving up yards, and opponents have been able to move the ball when they protect the quarterback. But the Lions also lead the league in sacks. That’s a strange combination, isn’t it? They get after quarterbacks and still give up big passing plays. Against Green Bay, Detroit needs to get pressure on Love before he can take those deep shots. If the Packers have time to throw, the Lions could be in for a long afternoon.
Goff has thrown 12 touchdown passes without an interception. That’s pretty impressive through five games. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and Jahmyr Gibbs give him plenty of options, and Detroit has been spreading the ball around. The Lions are also getting some help back. Brian Branch and Cade Mays are expected to make their season debuts Sunday. Branch should help the secondary, while Mays gives Detroit another option at center. Their workloads aren’t settled yet, but having them available is better than the alternative.
Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions Picks and Predictions
Detroit Lions -3 (-105)
I’ll lay the three with Detroit. Green Bay has been playing decent football, and the Packers can certainly win this game. But Detroit’s offense has been a different animal. Goff hasn’t thrown an interception, the Lions are averaging nearly 33 points, and they’re coming off a bye. Green Bay just played Sunday night at home and now has to deal with Detroit’s pass rush. I think the Lions get enough pressure on Love to force a couple of mistakes. The Packers will move the ball, but Detroit should make more plays in the red zone. Lions by six.
Over 53.5 Points (-110)
I’m taking over 53.5. That’s a big total, and I don’t love laying money on a game needing 54 points. But Detroit has been scoring 32.8 a game and allowing almost 30. Green Bay has enough talent to take advantage of that secondary, especially if Love gets some protection. The Lions have plenty of weapons, and Goff has been playing clean football. This could turn into one of those NFC North games where both teams score in the first quarter and nobody gets comfortable. Give me Detroit 31, Green Bay 27.
Final Picks: Detroit Lions -3 (-105) and Over 53.5 Points (-110)
