Matthew Stafford looked sharp in the opener, completing 72% of his passes for 245 yards and a touchdown while spreading the ball effectively. Puka Nacua dominated with 10 receptions for 130 yards. Kyren Williams balanced the offense with 66 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, giving the Rams. The offensive line did surrender three sacks, but Stafford’s quick release minimized overall damage and helped to keep drives alive.
The Rams’ defense allowed just nine points to Houston. Kam Curl led with 10 tackles, while Cobie Durant grabbed an interception to seal the game late. The front, anchored by Jeffery Simmons, produced three sacks and closed down Houston’s red-zone chances. Tennessee struggled in Denver, with quarterback Cam Ward limited to 112 passing yards on 12-of-28 attempts. The Titans’ offensive line allowed six sacks, stalling drives, and forcing early punts. Tony Pollard was the lone bright spot, running 18 times for 60 yards while also leading in receiving with 29 yards. Calvin Ridley managed 27 yards on four catches, but the passing game lacked rhythm. Improving protection and sustaining drives are priorities to keep the defense from wearing down.
On defense, Tennessee had some solid performances with Jeffery Simmons registering a sack and Cody Barton pacing the team with nine tackles. Xavier Woods added an interception, but Denver’s balanced attack controlled possession and limited big-play opportunities for the Titans’ secondary. The special teams performed, as Joey Slye nailed all four field goals, including a long of 50, proving reliable when drives stalled.
