Los Angeles Rams vs Washington Commanders Picks and Prediction for Sunday November 8 2026
The Rams head to Landover, Maryland, on Sunday for a 1 PM ET game against Washington at Northwest Stadium. FOX has the coverage. Los Angeles is favored by 4.5 points, and the total is 48. The weather shouldn’t cause much trouble. We’re looking at temperatures around 59 to 62 degrees, little chance of rain, and winds around 8 to 12 mph with gusts possibly reaching 20 early. Maybe a little trouble on longer kicks, but nothing that should change the way either team approaches the game.
Washington just beat Philadelphia 27-10, so the Commanders aren’t coming into this one feeling sorry for themselves. But the Rams have been much better defensively, and that’s where I see the difference. Be ready for all the action on Sunday with our free NFL picks.
Los Angeles Rams Have Been Better Than Their Record
The Rams are 4-4, including 2-1 on the road, after beating the Chargers 24-9 last Sunday. Los Angeles has been inconsistent, but that was a good defensive performance. The Chargers couldn’t get much going, and the Rams didn’t have to put up 35 points to win. That’s the kind of football I think travels pretty well.
Los Angeles is scoring 24.3 points per game and allowing 21. The Rams are generating about 384 yards per game, including nearly 259 through the air. That’s a pretty good offense. Defensively, they’re allowing around 301 yards per game and fewer than 192 passing yards. Washington has been having trouble protecting its quarterback and generating consistent passing offense, so that matchup favors the Rams.

Matthew Stafford has thrown for 2,146 yards with 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Kyren Williams has 548 rushing yards and six touchdowns, while Puka Nacua has 56 catches for 565 yards. Those are important numbers because Los Angeles can attack Washington in more than one way. Jaylen Watson is out, while Colby Parkinson, Kam Curl, Trent McDuffie, and Jordan Whittington have been dealing with injuries. The secondary availability is worth checking, but the Rams have enough offensive weapons to move the ball.
Washington Commanders Need Another Strong Defensive Game
Washington is 2-4-1, including 2-1-1 at home, after beating Philadelphia 27-10 last Sunday. That’s a good win, especially against a division rival. But the Commanders have been having trouble stringing together consistent performances. Beating Philadelphia doesn’t automatically mean they’re ready to handle a Rams offense that’s considerably more productive.
Washington is averaging 22.7 points and allowing 26. The Commanders are generating around 327 yards per game while giving up approximately 342. The biggest problem Sunday is pass defense. Washington is allowing about 243 passing yards per game, and the Rams are throwing for nearly 259. That’s not a matchup I like for the Commanders, especially with their defensive line missing some important pieces.
Jayden Daniels has thrown for 976 yards and six touchdowns without an interception in five appearances. He’s also rushed for 236 yards and two scores, so the Rams have to account for his legs. Washington has lost Daron Payne for the season, and Laremy Tunsil and Terry McLaurin are also on injured reserve. Sam Cosmi and John Bates have been dealing with availability questions. Those injuries matter because Washington needs to protect Daniels and keep the Rams from controlling the line of scrimmage.
Los Angeles Rams vs Washington Commanders Picks and Prediction
Spread Pick: Los Angeles Rams -4.5 (-109)
I’m laying the 4.5 with Los Angeles. Washington deserves credit for beating Philadelphia, and Daniels can make things difficult when he starts moving around. But the Rams are allowing five fewer points per game and have a much better passing offense. Stafford should find opportunities against a Washington secondary giving up 243 yards through the air. The Commanders’ offensive line injuries are another concern. I think Los Angeles gets enough pressure to force a couple of bad possessions. Give me the Rams by a touchdown.
Total Pick: Under 48 (-110)
I’ll take the under 48. Washington is averaging 22.7 points, and the Rams are allowing only 21. Los Angeles just held the Chargers to nine, and Washington’s passing game has been limited by injuries. The Rams can score, but I don’t think they need 35 to win this one. The concern is Daniels extending plays and turning broken coverage into big gains. He’s capable of that. Still, I think Los Angeles controls enough of the game to keep this around 27-17.
Final Picks: Los Angeles Rams -4.5 (-109) | Under 48 (-110)
