New York Giants vs Houston Texans Picks and Predictions for Sunday October 25 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 10/21/2026, 09:45 PM ET

Houston finally has a little momentum. The Texans beat Tennessee 26-3, then went to London and knocked off Jacksonville 34-31 on a late field goal. That’s two straight wins after a miserable start. Now they’re favored by more than a touchdown against the Giants, who just gave up 34 points to New Orleans. Houston should win this game. Covering 9.5 is another conversation.

The Giants visit NRG Stadium in Houston on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Kickoff is 1:00 PM ET on FOX. Houston is favored by 9.5 points, and the total is 43. The Texans are coming off an international trip, which makes that big spread a little more interesting. Check out our free NFL picks for more predictions.

New York Giants Have To Stop Giving Away Points

The Giants are 3-2-1 after losing 34-27 to New Orleans. They’d tied Washington 27-27 the week before, so the defense has now given up 61 points over two games without getting a win. That’s frustrating because the Giants have played some decent football this season. They’ve beaten Arizona and Tennessee, and they’ve found ways to hang around in games. But the defense has to be better against a Houston offense that’s starting to wake up.

New York averages 22.7 points per game and allows 23.3. Those numbers suggest a team that should be playing close games, and that’s largely what we’ve seen. The Giants can run the football, but the passing game has been inconsistent. Houston has a dangerous pass rush, so New York needs to stay out of third-and-long. If the Giants spend the afternoon asking their quarterback to throw under pressure, they’re going to have problems.

Jameis Winston has thrown for 957 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Cam Skattebo has rushed for 294 yards, while Malik Nabers leads the receiving group with 494 yards. Nabers gives New York somebody who can make a difficult catch and turn a short play into something bigger. The Giants have had injury concerns along the offensive line, including Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor. That’s not good news with Houston’s pass rush waiting.

Houston Texans Are Starting To Look Better

Houston is 2-4 after beating Jacksonville 34-31 in London. The Texans needed every one of those points, winning on a late 49-yard field goal. C.J. Stroud threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns, and Houston finally looked like a team that could score when it needed to. The Texans have won two straight, and the offense is showing signs of life after a rough opening month.

Houston averages 24 points per game and allows 23.8. That’s not the profile of a dominant team, but the defense can rush the passer. The Texans have recorded 18 sacks through six games, and they should have opportunities against New York’s offensive line. Houston’s own running game hasn’t done much, which is one reason I don’t love laying nearly ten points. If the Texans can’t run the ball with a lead, the Giants could hang around longer than Houston fans would like.

Stroud has thrown for 1,714 yards with nine touchdowns and only one interception. That’s excellent ball security, especially considering how often Houston has asked him to throw. Woody Marks has 205 rushing yards, while Jaylin Noel has 334 receiving yards. Will Anderson Jr. has 7.5 sacks and is one of the biggest reasons the defense is dangerous. Houston has injury concerns involving Tank Dell, Jalen Pitre, and David Montgomery. The Texans need to make sure their improving offense doesn’t get dragged down by a lack of healthy options.

New York Giants vs Houston Texans Picks and Predictions

New York Giants +9.5 (-110)

Give me the Giants and 9.5 points. Houston is the better team, and Stroud should have success against a defense that just allowed 34 to New Orleans. But this is a big spread for a 2-4 team coming home from London. The Texans haven’t run the football well, and that makes it harder to put games away when they get a lead. New York has enough offense to score a couple of touchdowns, and Nabers can make things interesting if Winston gets him the ball. The Giants could lose this game and still cover comfortably. I’ll take the points.

Over 43 Points (-110)

I’ll take over 43. Houston scored 34 against Jacksonville, and the Giants have allowed 27 and 34 in their last two games. That’s a pretty good starting point. Stroud is playing well, and New York has enough offense to contribute if the game opens up. The risk is Houston’s pass rush getting after Winston and killing drives before they start.
