San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams Picks and Prediction for Thursday October 2 2025

49ers Preview

The week five NFL schedule will kick off on Thursday night with a matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams from SoFi Stadium. On Sunday, San Francisco trailed by 11 points at halftime and committed four turnovers during a 26-21 home loss versus Jacksonville.

San Francisco QB Brock Purdy completed 22 of 38 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns. All-Pro RB Christian McCaffrey contributed 141 yards from scrimmage and caught an eight-yard touchdown pass. LB Dee Winters recorded 10 tackles (9 solo) in a losing effort for the 49ers.

Rams Preview

The Los Angeles Rams have reached the playoffs in four of the previous five seasons and are locked in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC West Division. The Rams (3-1) rank fourth in the league in total offense (388.3 ypg) and are scoring 25 points per contest. Last week, Los Angeles racked up 462 yards of offense during a 27-20 home victory versus Indianapolis.

Los Angeles broke a 20-20 tie with 93 seconds remaining on an 88-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to Tutu Atwell. Stafford evened the score two minutes earlier on a 9-yard strike to Puka Nacua, who finished with a game-high 170 receiving yards. Kyren Williams added 77 rushing yards for the Rams.
