Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers Picks and Predictions for Sunday October 25 2026
Tampa Bay had Pittsburgh down 16-3 Sunday. Thirteen-point lead, playing at home, everything going their way. Then the Buccaneers managed to lose 26-19 in overtime. I don’t know what they’re saying in that locker room these days, but somebody ought to mention that a football game lasts four quarters.
Now they’re headed to Charlotte, where Carolina has suddenly decided it knows how to win. The Panthers went into Philadelphia last week and beat the Eagles 25-14. That’s not a bad afternoon’s work.
The Buccaneers visit Bank of America Stadium on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with kickoff at 1:00 PM ET on FOX. Carolina is laying 3.5 points, and the total is 44.5. There’s also the question of whether Baker Mayfield will be ready to play. That one matters quite a bit. For more matchups, check out our free NFL picks.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Can’t Get Out Of Their Own Way
Tampa Bay is 1-5. The Buccaneers finally got a win over Dallas two weeks ago, then came home and blew that lead against Pittsburgh. They’ve lost five of six, and Sunday was probably the most aggravating one yet. The Steelers sacked Tampa Bay’s quarterback five times. Five. It’s hard enough to win with a rookie under center without letting defenders chase him around all afternoon. The Buccaneers had a chance to put that game away and couldn’t do it.

The offense averages 19.8 points a game, and the defense gives up 23. Tampa Bay runs for nearly 128 yards a contest, which is actually respectable. The passing game? Different story. The Buccaneers average 186 yards through the air, and they’ve allowed 22 sacks. That’s a lot of punishment for whoever’s taking the snaps. Carolina isn’t exactly the Steel Curtain, but the Panthers won’t have to do anything fancy if Tampa Bay keeps missing blocks. Get the Buccaneers behind the chains and wait for another punt.
Baker Mayfield has been out since hurting the thumb on his throwing hand against Minnesota. He’s expected to practice this week, although nobody should assume that means he’ll be ready Sunday. Jalon Daniels has started the last three games and thrown for 501 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions while completing 61.2% of his passes. Those five picks are the problem. A young quarterback is going to make mistakes, but Tampa Bay doesn’t have enough offense to keep handing opponents extra possessions. Getting Mayfield back would help. Getting him back and then letting him get hit all afternoon wouldn’t.
Carolina Panthers Are Starting To Believe
Carolina is 3-2 and has won three of its last four. The Panthers beat Philadelphia 25-14 Sunday, and it wasn’t some fluky win where they recovered four fumbles and hoped for the best. Bryce Young threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard ran for 120 and scored. Carolina moved the ball, finished drives, and made the Eagles work for everything. A month ago, I wouldn’t have trusted the Panthers to win a road game like that. They’re playing a lot better now.
Carolina averages 29.2 points and 418.6 yards a game. That’s a pretty serious offense. The Panthers are also scoring touchdowns on two-thirds of their red-zone trips. You can move the ball between the 20s all afternoon, but those red-zone numbers are what turn decent drives into wins. The defense is another matter. Carolina allows 24.6 points and 132.2 rushing yards a game. Tampa Bay ought to be able to run the ball against that front. If the Buccaneers are smart, they’ll try to make this a slow game instead of asking their quarterback to win a throwing contest.
Young completed 20 of 39 passes against Philadelphia. Not a beautiful completion percentage, but he didn’t throw an interception and made the throws that counted. Hubbard carried 28 times for those 120 yards. Tommy Tremble caught two touchdowns, and Jalen Coker added six catches for 97 yards. That’s what I like about Carolina right now. It’s not one guy having to rescue everybody else. Hubbard can carry the ball 25 times, Young can find a couple of receivers, and the Panthers can put together a decent afternoon without doing anything spectacular.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Carolina Panthers Picks and Predictions
Carolina Panthers -3.5 (-110)
I’m laying the 3.5 with Carolina. Tampa Bay’s record isn’t the only reason. The Buccaneers just blew a 13-point lead, they’ve allowed 22 sacks, and their quarterback situation is still unsettled. That’s a lot to sort out before a road game. Carolina has been playing better football and just handled Philadelphia on the road. Hubbard should get his carries, and Young has been making enough throws to keep defenses from loading everybody into the box. Could Mayfield come back and give Tampa Bay a lift? Sure. That would worry me more than anything else. But even with him, the Buccaneers have to block somebody. I think Carolina wins this by six or seven.
Under 44.5 Points (-110)
I’ll take under 44.5, although I like the side a little more. Carolina’s offense has been rolling, and that’s the obvious danger. The Panthers could put up 30 if Tampa Bay starts giving them the ball at midfield. But I don’t see the Buccaneers wanting to get into a shootout. They’ve got a running game that can eat some clock, and Carolina’s defense has been giving up plenty of rushing yards. That ought to be the plan. Hand it off, move the chains, and keep Young watching from the sideline. Carolina can run Hubbard right back at them. Two teams trying to establish the run usually means fewer possessions, and that’s what I’m betting on. Give me Carolina 24, Tampa Bay 17.
Final Picks: Carolina Panthers -3.5 (-110) and Under 44.5 Points (-110)
This preview was completed October 20, 2026. Baker Mayfield’s availability, other injuries, betting lines, and game-day weather may change before kickoff.
