Aston Villa vs Fulham Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 31 2026
Aston Villa spent the early part of the season looking like a team that couldn’t quite get out of its own way. Now they’ve beaten Newcastle and Manchester City in consecutive league games.
That changes the conversation a little.
Fulham has won two straight league matches too, so this isn’t a case of one team flying and the other falling apart. But I like Villa at home. Unai Emery has his team playing better, and when Villa gets into one of these stretches, I don’t particularly enjoy betting against it.
Villa hosts Fulham at Villa Park in Birmingham on Saturday, October 31. Kickoff is 4 PM ET. The home side is priced around -105, with Fulham around +275 and the draw in the +250 range. I’m taking Villa to win, and I think the goals market offers another decent angle. Get ready for all the action with our free soccer picks.

Aston Villa Has Finally Started Winning Games
Villa has 11 points from eight Premier League matches. Three wins, two draws and three defeats. That record doesn’t scream title contender, but it doesn’t tell you how much better the team has looked lately. Villa has taken ten points from its last four league games, including that impressive 2-1 win over Manchester City.
The attack is still a work in progress. Villa has scored nine league goals, which is just over one a game. That’s not enough to make me comfortable laying a big handicap. But the team has been finding ways to win close matches, and that’s what matters here. Villa doesn’t need to score four against Fulham. Two good chances taken properly might be enough.
Nicolas Jackson has four league goals, while John McGinn has created 13 chances and supplied three assists. Johan Manzambi has added two goals and two assists. That’s a useful combination of finishing and creativity. Amadou Onana is out with a serious knee injury, while Matteo Ruggeri and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also unavailable. Those absences hurt, but Villa has been getting results anyway. Emery has found a way to make the remaining players work together.
Fulham Is Better Than Its Position Suggests
Fulham has eight points from eight games, with two wins, two draws and four losses. The Cottagers have won their last two league matches, so they’re coming into this one with some confidence. They also lost to Crystal Palace in the League Cup during the week, which wasn’t ideal, but I wouldn’t put too much weight on a cup defeat.
Fulham has scored eight league goals and allowed ten. That’s not a disaster defensively. The problem is that they haven’t been creating enough quality chances to put teams away. Away from home, they’ve averaged only half a goal per game through their first four league trips. That’s the number that bothers me. Villa has been playing better, and Fulham isn’t exactly arriving with a dangerous road attack.
Joshua King has scored twice and taken 21 shots, while Alex Iwobi has created 18 chances. Oscar Bobb has added another 16 chances created. So Fulham has players who can move the ball into dangerous areas. But creating chances and finishing them are different things. Ryan Sessegnon is suspended, and Emile Smith Rowe is a fitness doubt. That leaves Fulham a little short of options for a game where it might need somebody to produce one moment of quality.
Aston Villa vs Fulham Picks and Predictions
Aston Villa Moneyline (-105)
I’m taking Villa. Fulham has been playing better, and I don’t think this is going to be an easy afternoon for Emery’s side. But Villa has beaten Newcastle and Manchester City, and those are two results I respect. The home team has more attacking options, and Fulham has been struggling to score on the road. I can see the visitors defending well for an hour and making this frustrating. But Villa has been finding a way to win these games lately. I’ll stick with the team that’s playing better football.
Under 2.5 Goals
I’m leaning Under 2.5. Villa has scored only nine league goals, and Fulham has eight. Neither team has been lighting up the scoreboard consistently. Fulham has also been fairly stubborn defensively, especially away from home. I don’t expect Villa to create 20 clear chances. The risk is an early goal forcing Fulham to attack, which could open the game up. But I like something around 1-0 or 2-0 Villa. That’s enough to make the Under interesting.
