Brentford vs Liverpool Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 17 2026
Brentford welcomes Liverpool to Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Kickoff is set for 10:00 AM ET, with Peacock carrying the match in the United States. Brentford just drew 2-2 with Aston Villa, while Liverpool got beaten 3-0 at home by Manchester City. The Bees are around +140 on the three-way moneyline, Liverpool is +185, and the draw is +280 at one odds comparison. I’m taking Brentford. Yeah, Liverpool has the bigger name. But the Bees haven’t lost a league match yet, and Liverpool has been struggling to score. Seven goals in six games. That’s not exactly frightening anybody. I also like the under. I think Brentford makes Liverpool work for every decent chance Saturday.
Brentford Are Giving Everybody A Hard Time
Brentford is 2-4-0 and sitting fourth in the Premier League with ten points. Four draws aren’t going to make anybody rich betting the moneyline, but the Bees haven’t lost either. They just went to Aston Villa and came away with a 2-2 draw. Kristoffer Ajer and Yehor Yarmoliuk got the goals. Nice to see a couple of different guys getting involved. Brentford has been doing that all season. Nine players have scored in the league already. Keith Andrews has this team playing pretty good football, and the home crowd has plenty to like. Liverpool coming to town used to sound like a miserable afternoon. Right now? I’d say Brentford has a decent shot.
The Bees have scored 12 goals and allowed six in six league matches. Two scored and one conceded per game. I’ll take that. Liverpool has scored seven and allowed seven. So why are we supposed to assume the Reds will be the better attacking team Saturday? Brentford has been pretty good at making opponents shoot from bad positions. Teams are getting about 14.5 shots a match against the Bees, but a lot of those attempts aren’t particularly dangerous. That’s important here. Liverpool likes to move the ball quickly and get forward, but it hasn’t been creating many clear chances. Brentford doesn’t have to control possession all afternoon. Just keep Liverpool away from the good shooting spots and wait for a chance at the other end.
Kevin Schade has scored three league goals, and he’s been one of Brentford’s more dangerous attacking options. He can get behind defenders when there’s space. Igor Thiago has one goal from 14 shots, so I’d like to see him finish a little better. Vitaly Janelt has chipped in with two goals, which helps. Brentford has some injuries to watch. Joshua Dasilva and Antoni Milambo are unavailable, while Kaye Furo is also out. Schade has been dealing with a shoulder problem, and Mikkel Damsgaard and Nathan Collins have had fitness concerns. I’d be checking that lineup Saturday morning. But Brentford has been getting goals from different places, and Caoimhín Kelleher has been doing good work in goal. I like where this team is right now.

Liverpool Need To Find Some Goals
Liverpool is 2-3-1 in the league and sitting ninth with nine points. The Reds were unbeaten before Manchester City came to Anfield last Sunday and beat them 3-0. Not exactly the result supporters wanted. Andoni Iraola is trying to get Liverpool playing quicker, more direct football, but the goals haven’t been coming. They drew 0-0 with Fulham, beat Bournemouth 1-0, and then couldn’t score against City. That’s one goal in three league matches. One! Liverpool still has good players, but something isn’t clicking. Now they’re heading to Brentford, where the Bees haven’t lost in the league this season. That’s not the easiest place to straighten out an offense.
The Reds have scored seven goals and conceded seven in six matches. Nothing spectacular there. They’re taking plenty of shots, 89 through six games, but only 30 have been on target. And they’ve created just nine big chances. Nine in six matches. That’s the number I’d be worried about. Liverpool can keep possession and fire shots from outside the box, but Brentford is pretty comfortable allowing that kind of football. The Reds have been better defensively, keeping three clean sheets. That’s why I like the under here. Liverpool hasn’t been giving away loads of easy goals. Brentford hasn’t either. I think both teams could spend a lot of Saturday trying to find some room.
Alexander Isak has been Liverpool’s main scoring threat, with three league goals in the club’s official preview figures. But he’s been dealing with an injury. Cody Gakpo is another concern, and Hugo Ekitike is unavailable. Ryan Gravenberch is suspended, too. That’s a lot of missing help. Dominik Szoboszlai has also been carrying a knock, while Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni are out. Florian Wirtz has the talent to create something, and Alexis Mac Allister can still move the ball around midfield. But who’s finishing the chances if Isak and Gakpo aren’t ready? That’s what I’d want answered before backing Liverpool. The defense has been pretty decent. The attack needs some help.
Brentford vs Liverpool Picks and Predictions
Moneyline Pick: Brentford +140
I’m taking Brentford at +140. Look, Liverpool could win this. The Reds have kept three clean sheets, and a healthy Isak changes the attack quite a bit. But Brentford is unbeaten, has scored 12 goals compared with Liverpool’s seven, and gets to play at home. Why wouldn’t I give the Bees a look? Liverpool just lost 3-0 to Manchester City, and now it has injuries and a suspension to deal with. Brentford has been making opponents settle for poor shooting chances. That’s exactly the kind of team I don’t want to face when my offense is already struggling. The draws worry me. Four in six matches. A 1-1 finish would be no surprise, and we’d lose a straight moneyline bet. But at +140, I like Brentford’s chances of getting the win. Give me the Bees.
Total Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (+138)
I’ll take Under 2.5 at +138. Liverpool has scored one goal in its last three league matches. One. Brentford is allowing just one per game and has been keeping opponents away from the better scoring chances. Liverpool’s defense hasn’t been bad either. Three clean sheets in six matches. Now, Brentford has scored 12 goals, so the Bees could absolutely get a couple here. That’s what worries me. And Liverpool has enough talent to score if somebody makes a mistake. But with the Reds missing attacking options and Brentford comfortable defending, I don’t expect chances flying around all afternoon. I can see Brentford getting one and making Liverpool chase it. Maybe a second goal late, maybe not. I’m thinking 1-0 Brentford. Give me the under.
Final Picks: Brentford Moneyline +140 and Under 2.5 Goals (+138).
