Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 24 2026

Brentford vs Tottenham picks

I’d love to know how many Tottenham supporters had James Maddison down as the man who’d finally get their season moving. His first league start in 536 days, and he sticks one in from outside the box against Coventry. Spurs won 3-1 on Monday. First league victory of the season. You could almost hear the relief.

I wouldn’t be celebrating too long, though. They’ve got Chelsea away on Saturday, and the Blues have just put seven goals past Bournemouth and Everton combined. Stamford Bridge isn’t where I’d choose to go looking for a second win, particularly with the way Spurs have been defending.

Chelsea and Tottenham meet at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Kickoff is at 12:30 PM ET. Chelsea are priced around -143 to win, Tottenham are +340, and the draw is +330. The total sits at 2.5 goals. You can find more predictions in our free soccer picks.

Chelsea Have The Firepower, But I Still Don’t Trust That Back Line

Chelsea are 4-1-2, sitting on 13 points after seven league matches. They beat Bournemouth 5-1, then went to Everton and won 2-0 last Saturday. Pedro Neto got both against Everton, the first just after halftime and the second right near the end. Everton had hung around for 45 minutes, but Chelsea eventually found a way through. That’s been the encouraging part lately. The Blues aren’t depending on one player to get them out of trouble.

Seventeen goals in seven matches is good going. Thirteen conceded? Not so much. You can get away with that when you’re putting three or four past somebody, but it makes backing Chelsea a little uncomfortable. Tottenham haven’t been scoring regularly, yet I wouldn’t be surprised if they found a goal here. Chelsea leave room when they push forward, and Spurs have a couple of players who can use it. The Blues ought to have most of the ball Saturday, but I’d be surprised if they kept Tottenham completely quiet.

João Pedro has five league goals already, and Cole Palmer has created 15 chances while picking up three assists. Neto’s brace at Everton gives defenders another headache. Who do you concentrate on? Palmer can find a pass, Pedro can finish, and Neto has the pace to get behind you. Chelsea do have some concerns at the other end. Reece James remains sidelined, while Emiliano Martínez suffered a head injury against Everton and had to be replaced by Mike Penders. I’d want to know who’s in goal before putting serious money on Chelsea.

Tottenham Finally Won One, But Now Comes The Hard Part

Spurs needed that Coventry result badly. They’d gone through their first six league matches without a victory, and another poor night would’ve made for a miserable week. Maddison scored early, Coventry equalized after halftime, and for a few minutes you could see the old nerves creeping back in. Omar Marmoush put Tottenham ahead again, though, and Ben Davies added the third. Job done. Nobody at Spurs will be pretending it was a famous victory, but they needed those three points.

What bothers me about Tottenham is how little they’ve offered going forward before Monday. Fewer than one league goal per game isn’t remotely good enough. Chelsea have conceded 13 in seven matches, so there should be chances here, especially if Maddison can find space between midfield and defense. But Tottenham have to be brave enough to use the ball when they get it. If they spend the afternoon hoofing clearances back to Chelsea, they’ll eventually concede. Probably more than once.

Maddison’s goal Monday was his 21st Premier League strike from outside the penalty area. That’s a serious weapon, and Spurs have missed somebody willing to have a go from distance. Mohammed Kudus set up the opener, while Marmoush finally gave them another goal from open play. Dominic Solanke and Conor Gallagher have been dealing with fitness problems, so the attacking options still need checking. I like having Maddison back. I’m just not convinced his return fixes everything that’s been going wrong.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Picks and Predictions

Chelsea Moneyline (-143)

Chelsea at -143 is my play, although I can see Tottenham making them sweat. Maddison changes things for Spurs, and Chelsea have conceded enough goals to make me nervous about backing them at short odds. But look at the attacking options on the other side. João Pedro has five goals, Palmer keeps creating chances, and Neto just scored twice at Everton. Tottenham finally beating Coventry doesn’t tell me they’re ready to handle all that. I think Spurs get a few chances and might even score first. Over 90 minutes, though, Chelsea have too many ways to hurt them. I’ll take the home side.

Over 2.5 Goals

I’d rather be holding an over ticket than hoping either of these defenses keeps a clean sheet. Chelsea have scored 17 and conceded 13 through seven games. That’s 30 goals across their matches, more than four a game on average. Tottenham’s attack has been poor, and that’s the main argument against this pick. But Maddison is back, Chelsea’s defense can be opened up, and Spurs will have to take a few chances if they fall behind. I don’t see Chelsea sitting on a 1-0 lead, either. Give me Chelsea 3, Tottenham 1.

Final Picks: Chelsea Moneyline (-143) and Over 2.5 Goals
