Coventry City vs Hull City picks

Fulham welcomes Hull City to Craven Cottage in London on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Kickoff is at 10:00 AM ET, with Peacock carrying the match in the United States. Fulham just lost 2-1 to Ipswich, while Hull played Everton to a 2-2 draw. Fulham is favored around -137, Hull is available at +380, and the total is 2.5 goals. I’m taking Hull. Yeah, the team visiting Craven Cottage. Have you looked at Fulham lately? Six league matches and not one win. They’re sitting bottom of the table with two points. Hull has nine. I’m not laying that kind of money on Fulham just because they’re playing at home. I’d rather take a shot with the Tigers.

Fulham Keep Throwing Points Away

Fulham is 0-2-4 in the Premier League. Two points in six matches. That’s a miserable start. Last Saturday, they went to Ipswich and actually had a 1-0 lead late in the match. Ryan Sessegnon had scored a terrific goal, and it looked like Fulham might finally win one. Then Ipswich scored in the 88th minute. Bad enough. They scored again in stoppage time and won 2-1. Come on. You can’t keep giving games away like that. Ɓlvaro Arbeloa hasn’t won a league match since taking over in the summer, and I imagine the supporters are getting tired of hearing about progress. They want three points. Can’t blame them.

Fulham’s goal difference is minus-four through six matches, and they’ve been having trouble finishing games. Five goals conceded late across those six league matches. That’s a problem. It’s not just about defending well for the first 70 minutes. Somebody has to close the door. Fulham has had moments where the attack looks decent, but those moments haven’t turned into wins. And now they’re favored against a Hull team that’s been picking up points. I understand the home-field argument. Craven Cottage can be a tough place to visit. But I’m not convinced Fulham has done enough to deserve this price. The defense keeps making mistakes, and the attack hasn’t been consistent enough to cover them up.

Joshua King has two league goals, and he’s been one of the more useful options going forward. He’s taken 14 shots, seven on target. That’s not bad. Sessegnon gave Fulham another goal against Ipswich, although it didn’t do them much good in the end. The injuries aren’t overwhelming, but there are concerns. Antonee Robinson has been dealing with an ankle and foot problem, while Tom Cairney has a knee issue. Those are players Fulham would rather have available. The biggest problem, though, isn’t one missing player. It’s the whole team losing control of matches late. Arbeloa needs to find a way to fix that. Saturday would be a nice time to start. I’m just not betting on it.

Hull City Have Been Tougher Than Expected

Hull is 2-3-1 and sitting eighth with nine points. That’s a pretty decent start for a club trying to establish itself in the Premier League. The Tigers played Everton to a 2-2 draw last Sunday, and that was a fun one. Joe Gelhardt put Hull ahead, Everton scored twice, and Mohamed Belloumi equalized in the 74th minute. Four goals, plenty of chances, and Hull came away with a point. They’ve also beaten Manchester United 2-0 and picked up a 2-2 draw against Chelsea. That’s not bad company to be taking points from. Sergej Jakirović has his team competing. And I’d say Hull has a lot less reason to be nervous about Saturday than Fulham does.

Hull has a plus-two goal difference through six league matches. Fulham is sitting at minus-four. That doesn’t tell you everything, but it’s a pretty good place to start. The Tigers have shown they can defend when they need to. They shut out Manchester United and Aston Villa earlier in the season. They’ve also shown they can score against better-known teams, putting two past Chelsea and Everton. That’s what I like. They’re not stuck playing one kind of match. If Fulham gives Hull some space, the Tigers can attack. If they need to sit back and defend, they’ve done that too. And with Fulham conceding so many late goals, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hull finds something in the final 15 minutes.

Belloumi has three goals and two assists this season. That’s five goal contributions in six league matches. Pretty good start. He scored the equalizer against Everton, and Fulham better keep an eye on him. Gelhardt has also shown he can finish, while the Tigers have been getting useful work from their midfield. Hull does have injuries. Jack Butland is out, along with Eliot Matazo, Darko Gyabi, Ilyas Ansah, Matt Targett and Charlie Hughes. That’s a fair amount of missing help. I’d be especially interested in the defensive lineup before placing a big bet. Fulham can still create chances at home. But Hull has been getting contributions from different players, and Belloumi has been one of the better attacking performers in this matchup.

Fulham vs Hull City Picks and Predictions

Moneyline Pick: Hull City +380

I’m taking Hull at +380. Look, I know Fulham could finally win one. They’ve been close, and they’re playing at home. Maybe this is the match where everything comes together. But have you watched them finish games? They just blew a lead against Ipswich in the final few minutes. Five late goals conceded in six matches. That’s not somebody I’m eager to back at -137. Hull has nine points, Fulham has two, and the Tigers have already taken points off Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton. That’s enough for me to take the underdog seriously. The injuries worry me, especially in Hull’s defensive group. And a draw is always possible. But at +380, I don’t need Hull to be the better team every minute. I need them to take their chances. I think they’ve got a shot at doing exactly that.

Total Pick: Over 2.5 Goals (-123)

I’ll take Over 2.5 goals at -123. Hull just played a 2-2 game against Everton, and it had another 2-2 draw with Chelsea earlier in the season. The Tigers can score, but they’re not shutting everybody out either. Fulham has been giving away late goals, and that makes me nervous about backing an under. The Cottagers do have some attacking talent. King has two goals, and Sessegnon just scored against Ipswich. Fulham could easily get on the board at home. The worry is Hull sitting back and turning this into a slow match. The Tigers have already played a scoreless draw against Aston Villa, so they can certainly do that. But I think Fulham comes out looking for its first win, and that should create some room at the other end. I can see both teams scoring. Something like 2-1 Hull sounds good to me. Give me the over.

Final Picks: Hull City Moneyline +380 and Over 2.5 Goals (-123).
