Manchester United vs Bournemouth Picks and Predictions for Sunday October 25 2026
Manchester United are favorites again. I looked at that price and wondered what exactly the bookmakers have seen that I haven’t. United have won once in seven league matches, just drew at Leeds, and now they’re being asked to beat Bournemouth at Old Trafford. Maybe they will. But I wouldn’t be putting my money on them just because of the badge.
Bournemouth finally got a win last weekend, beating Sunderland 2-0. Sunderland played most of the game with ten men, so I’m not getting carried away with that result. Still, Bournemouth had 29 shots. Twenty-nine. Even against ten men, that’s a lot of chances. United haven’t exactly been shutting teams down, either.
Manchester United hosts Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Kickoff is at 10:00 AM ET. United are around -114 on the moneyline, Bournemouth are +285, and the draw is +285. The total is 3 goals. Get in on all the action with our free soccer picks.
Manchester United Keep Finding Ways To Drop Points
United are 13th with seven points from seven matches. One win, four draws, two defeats. They drew 1-1 at Leeds last Sunday, and that was another game where they had a lead and couldn’t hold it. Bryan Mbeumo scored in the 35th minute, finishing a ball into the area from Youri Tielemans. Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalized six minutes after halftime, and that was that. United had their chances, but they didn’t do enough with them.

The problem isn’t that United are getting battered every week. It’s that they’re not finishing games. They drew 1-1 with Tottenham, 1-1 with Fulham, and now 1-1 with Leeds. Three draws, three points, and not much progress. Michael Carrick can talk about togetherness all he wants, but somebody has to start winning matches. Bournemouth will be happy to sit back and let United get frustrated. The longer it stays level, the more pressure there’ll be on the home side.
Mbeumo has scored in consecutive league games, which is one of the few things going right. Tielemans has been useful getting the ball forward, but United still aren’t creating enough clear chances. Carrick has been moving players around trying to find something that works. They’ve also got a Champions League trip to Como on Wednesday, so fatigue could be an issue. I’d want to see the lineup before trusting United at any price.
Bournemouth Have A Chance To Make Things Worse
Bournemouth finally won a league game last Sunday, beating Sunderland 2-0. Marcus Tavernier scored after six minutes, Kevin Danso was sent off for Sunderland in the 17th, and Evanilson added another shortly after halftime. Bournemouth finished with 29 shots. You’d like to see them score more than twice with that many attempts, but at least they were creating chances. That’s been a problem earlier in the season.
The Cherries have been struggling to finish, but they don’t have to be brilliant to give United trouble. Old Trafford hasn’t exactly been a fortress lately. Bournemouth can press, move the ball quickly, and make United’s defenders turn around. If they get an early goal, things could get pretty uncomfortable for Carrick. United’s supporters have been patient enough, but another poor performance against a side near the bottom would test anybody.
Evanilson scored against Sunderland and helped create Tavernier’s opener. Tavernier took his goal well, and Bournemouth got useful contributions from different areas of the pitch. Marco Rose will want them to keep that energy going. Bournemouth also have a Europa League match against Milan during the week, so they’re not coming into this completely fresh either. Both managers may have some decisions to make with their lineups.
Manchester United vs Bournemouth Picks and Predictions
Bournemouth Moneyline (+285)
I’ll take Bournemouth at +285. United might win this. They’re at home, they’ve got more expensive players, and sooner or later you’d think they’d put together a decent performance. But I’m not betting on what they’re supposed to be. I’m looking at what they’ve done. One league win in seven matches, and they’ve been letting leads slip away. Bournemouth aren’t exactly flying, but they looked lively against Sunderland and should get chances here. At nearly 3-to-1, I’m willing to take the visitors.
Under 3 Goals (-115)
I’m going under 3. United have been playing 1-1 draws like they’re going out of fashion, and Bournemouth haven’t been scoring enough to make me expect a shootout. The Cherries had 29 shots against Sunderland, but they were playing against ten men for most of the game. United should offer more resistance than that. I can see this being a frustrating afternoon for the home crowd, with Bournemouth nicking a goal and trying to hang on. Bournemouth 1, Manchester United 0.
Final Picks: Bournemouth Moneyline (+285) and Under 3 Goals (-115)
