Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace Picks and Predictions for Saturday October 31 2026
Tottenham went to Stamford Bridge last weekend and beat Chelsea 2-0. That was a proper result. Not some lucky point scraped together in the final minutes. Spurs played well, got their goals and came home with three points.
Now they’re facing a Crystal Palace side that just lost 2-0 to Newcastle and recently got hammered 5-0 by Brighton.
You can probably see where I’m going with this.
Tottenham hosts Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday, October 31. Kickoff is 1:30 PM ET. Spurs are around -173 to -180 on the three-way moneyline, and Over 2.5 goals is priced around -165. I think Tottenham wins, but I’m not convinced the defense keeps Palace off the scoresheet. Tottenham Finally Has Something to Build On
Spurs is 2-3-3 with nine points, sitting 14th in the Premier League. That’s not where the club wants to be, but the recent form is better. Tottenham beat Coventry 3-1, drew 1-1 at Manchester United and then won 2-0 at Chelsea. Seven points from those three matches. That’s a decent run, especially after the slow start.
The attack has looked more comfortable lately. Tottenham scored three against Coventry and two at Chelsea, and the players are finding space that wasn’t there earlier in the season. The defense still worries me, though. Spurs has had trouble protecting leads and has been involved in some fairly open games at home. Against Palace, that might not matter as much because the visitors have been struggling. But I wouldn’t automatically expect a clean sheet.
Roberto De Zerbi has been dealing with injuries to some of his attacking options. Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert are unavailable with serious knee injuries, while Mykhailo Mudryk has an ankle problem. That’s not ideal, but Spurs has found ways to score anyway. The win at Chelsea was the best example. Tottenham didn’t need everything to be perfect. It just needed to take its chances.
Crystal Palace Has Been Giving Away Too Much
Palace is 2-1-5 with seven points, sitting 17th. The Eagles have lost three of their last five league matches, including that 5-0 beating at Brighton and the 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle. They did beat Nottingham Forest 3-1, so they’re capable of scoring when things go right. But the defending has been a problem for most of the season.
Palace has conceded 19 goals in eight league games. That’s nearly 2.4 a match. You can talk about tactics all afternoon, but if you’re giving up that many goals, you’re going to struggle. Tottenham has been scoring better lately, and I think Spurs will find opportunities around the penalty area. Palace needs to make this uncomfortable, slow the game down and avoid getting stretched. I’m not sure it can do that for 90 minutes.
Tyrick Mitchell has scored twice in the league, while Daichi Kamada has three assists. Adam Wharton has created 12 chances, giving Palace somebody who can find a pass when the Eagles get forward. Chadi Riad is unavailable with a knee injury, which doesn’t help the defensive situation. Palace still has players capable of hurting Tottenham on the counterattack. That’s the one thing that keeps me from expecting an easy home win.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace Picks and Predictions
Tottenham Hotspur Moneyline (-173)
I’m taking Tottenham. The price is a little heavy for a team sitting 14th, and that’s worth remembering. Spurs hasn’t been reliable all season. But the last three league performances have been better, and winning at Chelsea should give them confidence. Palace has conceded 19 goals in eight matches and just lost at home to Newcastle. I don’t see the Eagles suddenly fixing all those defensive problems on the road. Tottenham might make things interesting, because that’s what Tottenham does, but I like Spurs to get the three points.
Over 2.5 Goals (-165)
I’ll take Over 2.5. Palace has been allowing goals in bunches, and Tottenham has scored five across its last two league wins. The visitors could help us here, too. Spurs isn’t exactly a defensive powerhouse, and Palace has enough attacking talent to grab a goal. The danger is Tottenham scoring early and deciding to protect the lead rather than keep attacking. But with Palace’s defensive record, I can see Spurs getting at least two. A 2-1 Tottenham win is my call.
